VectorSense
AACT uses the VectorSense™ Tire Sensor Suite for accurate and reliable Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC), using a proprietary tire-sensing technology to determine single, dual or super single tire groups on vehicle axles. The system operates independently of vehicle speed. AACT is a superior alternative to toll treadle technologies for pre- and post-audit applications. VectorSense™ sensors do not experience the premature wear patterns that can affect other types of single/dual sensors. The VectorSense™ Tire Sensor Suite can be used to improve toll audit systems. By sensing the tire footprint at any point along the sensor, VectorSense™ provides lane position data and track width. This data can be used by toll system integrators to ensure greater accuracy of classification, protection from incidental counts, and elimination of “missed” vehicles due to lane straddling.

Tire Safety Screening
The Tire Anomaly and Classification System (TACS™) screens commercial vehicles at weigh station facilities to identify those vehicles which are unsafe due to missing or underinflated tires. Tire anomalies and flat tires decrease directional control, increase the risk of commercial vehicle accidents, reduce tire life, and negatively affect fuel economy. Mismatched and missing tires result in vehicle imbalance, improper load distribution and potential safety issues. The Tire Anomaly and Classification System (TACS) supports the screening of commercial vehicles at highway (up to 100 mph) and ramp speeds at weigh station facilities to identify those vehicles which are unsafe due to missing or underinflated tires.
Sensor Suite
The VectorSense™ tire sensor suite provides previously unavailable vehicle and traffic data including lane position information, single/dual and super single tire measurement and identification of low pressure tires, all at highway speed, for use in Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO), Toll Road Operations, and Vehicle Safety and Traffic Data Collection applications. The tire position and footprint data provided by the VectorSense™ sensor suite opens up new possibilities for traffic data collection, commercial vehicle safety, and toll road operations.
WIM Systems
IRD-PAT Bending Plate System
The IRD-PAT Bending Plate® is a load cell scale system that fits the requirements for WIM applications including traffic monitoring, overload detection, toll applications and data collection for road maintenance and planning. The IRD-PAT Bending Plate® is a durable, proven technology installed worldwide with a typical life span in excess of 10 years.
Slow Speed WIM Scale
IRD’s Slow Speed Weigh-In-Motion (SSWIM®) Scale can accurately weigh vehicles at speeds between 0 and 20 km/h (0 and 12 mph). Its low operation cost, ease of installation and high accuracy make it the ideal choice for checking truck weights, including axle compliance and bridge formula compliance. The Model 4020 Scale utilizes two shear beam load cells for weight measurement. Since each scale is approximately 10 feet (3 meters) wide, only one scale would be required per lane. Each scale is mounted flush with the road surface in roads of 175 mm (7 in) minimum depth. The Model 4020 Scale functions in all weather conditions.
