Hydro Generator Condition Monitoring - Partial Discharge Monitoring - Online Senors

Iris - Power Stator Slot Couplers for Partial Discharge Monitoring

Iris Power Stator Slot Couplers (SSCs) are by far the most sensitive partial discharge sensor in the world since they are installed directly underneath the wedges in high voltage stator slots. The data collected using Stator Slot Couplers are not affected by normal external interference (or noise) such as power system corona, output bus arcing or other sources.

Hydro Generator Condition Monitoring - Partial Discharge Monitoring - Offline Instruments

Iris - Corona Probe for Precise Partial Discharge Monitoring

The Iris Power PPM-97 Corona Probe supplements on-line partial discharge measurements by more precisely locating the partial discharge to a particular slot and position, with the motor or generator winding energized by an external high voltage AC source. This offline test provides a method of testing the quality of bonding between the ground wall insulation layers in the slot sections of new resin-rich and individually VPI’d coils/bars, and the adequacy of slot resin fill in global VPI windings.

Hydro Generator Condition Monitoring -Condition Based Monitoring - Rotor Magnetic Flux

Iris - Rotor Flux Continuous Monitor

The FluxTracII-S 4208 is continuous monitor to collect and analyze flux data from any flux probe in real time, providing the user with data on rotor winding shorted turns.

Hydro Generator Condition Monitoring -Condition Based Monitoring - Mechanical Vibration Monitoring

Iris - Portable Vibration Monitoring Unit

Portable monitoring system and diagnostic software for bearing and shaft vibrations on generators and motors. The CoDiS PMU package includes sensors, mounting accessories, cables, signal conditioning, data acquisition unit and diagnostic software to monitor and analyze vibration on generators and motors.

Motor Assessment

PDTrac - Automated Partial Discharge Monitoring System

The PDTracII instrument performs automated, continuous Partial Discharge measurements for motors, generators, switchgear and dry-type transformers. The PDTracII instrument provides maintenance professionals with an opportunity to continuously monitor equipment for insulation breakdown. This instrument will automate measurements and store recorded data for up to 2 years. The PDTrac instrument includes Sensor Input Modules, Alarm Output and can be supplied with optional Analog Signal Output Module. The PDTracII instrument can be completely controlled from a remote location and contains communication options including USB or Ethernet TCP/IP. Plant personnel can configure the unit, test the machines and receive alarm notifications from their office PC. The optional Modbus interface allows users to integrate partial discharge (PD) data from continuous on-line PD monitoring instruments, through a LAN, into external applications for alarming, displaying and/or trending.

Bantam - Stator Winding Partial Discharge Measurement Instrument

PDAlert instrument measures stator winding partial discharges caused by Inverter Fed Drives (IFDs). IFDs create thousands of fast rise time voltage surges per second. These surges sometimes lead to stator failure. The PDAlert instrument is the first on-line device which allows non-specialists to easily measure PD in each phase, under fast rise time surges. When combined with certain surge testers, PDAlert instrument also enables users to determine PD inception and extinction voltage off-line. The PDAlert instrument outputs analog signals to display the PD on a high speed digital oscilloscope.

Evolution - Electromagnetic Core Imperfection Detection System

Electromagnetic Core Imperfection Detection (EL CID) testing is accepted world-wide for reliable and safe detection of stator core inter-laminar faults (CIGRE, 2004). Originally developed by the CEGB in England, the EL CID Evolution is a third generation instrument that is proven, reliable and easy to use. The EL CID Evolution tests the condition of a stator core in less time and with fewer resources than the earlier EL CID models. The EL CID instrument can be used to test turbo-generators, hydro-generators, and large motors.
