Oil Water Separators - Above Ground Oil Water Separators

Washbay - Above Ground Oil Water Separators

We offer a complete line of high efficiency, stainless steel, above ground oil water separators that will remove 99.9% of free and dispersed non-emulsified oil and settleable solids from the waste stream. Our staff of experienced engineers will provide you with an innovative, efficient, and cost effective solution to your oily waste water issues.

Washbay - Solids & Oil Water Separation Systems

New SOWS Systems Remove Both Free & Dispersed Oil AND Settable & Suspended Solids! Introducing the new Best Available Technology (BAT) for the treatment of produced water and flow-back water. The Solids and Oil Water Separation Systems (SOWS) are horizontal gravity flow treatment systems designed to separate settleable solids, suspended solids, and free and dispersed oil. This system is a significant improvement to the currently used CPI Separators which can only separate free oil and settleable solids – allowing a considerable amount of dispersed oil, suspended solids, and stable emulsions to pass through the system.

Washbay - Constrained Location Oil/Water Separators or Build In Place (BIP)

In some locations such as power plants or older factories, there may be a need to install a larger oil water separator in a constrained space. There may be room for the separator, but the entrance to the separator area may be a maze of twisted steps and narrow hallways.  If this is the case, we have the ability to custom engineer an oil water separator that can be built in place, piece-by-piece.

Washbay - Industrial Parts Washing Oil/Water Separators

Are you washing with dirty water? Many industries have parts washing systems that are critical to their production. Often used on a continuous basis, they remove heavy oils, dry lubes and machining particles off production parts. Many of these wash systems require constant cleaning and filtration to not to re-contaminate the parts. Our oil water separator systems will remove 99.9% of free and dispersed non-emulsified oil droplets in the wash water  – greatly improving the quality of the cleaning water and extending the time before having to dump and re-charge. They will also help drop out particles from the wash water.

Washbay - Industrial Process Water Clarifier Oil/Water Separators

Many industrial processes use large amounts of water for a variety of reasons including cooling and cleaning. To assure continuous production, this water has to be clean and free of contaminants such as oil and particles. The cost of chemicals and downtime to re-charge the spent baths can be expensive. By removing 99.9% of the free oil and settable solids, our oil/water separators systems will extend the life of the cleaning baths and improve the quality of the process waters.

Oil Water Separators - Below Ground Oil Water Separator

Washbay - Below Ground Oil Water Separator

Our single wall or double wall below ground parallel, corrugated plate oil/water separators meet and exceed API 421 requirements, removing essentially 100% of dispersed non-emulsified oil droplets in the waste stream. These separators are special purpose prefabricated parallel corrugated plate, cylindrical, gravity displacement oil water separators, containing an inlet compartment, sludge chamber, separation chamber, oil storage area and clean water compartment. As shown below, the separation process if fairly simple. Wastewater flows into the inlet compartment. A baffle interrupts the flow and allows solids to drop out. Next the oil water moves into the separation chamber where our innovative media causes small oil droplets entrained in the water to coalesce into larger ones which then separate from the water and float to the surface. The clean water then travels into the clean water compartment through the outlet to the sewer.

Washbay - Stormwater Oil Water Separators

The first phase of a rainstorm can be deceiving. The peaceful melody of the droplets can quickly disperse over parking lots, fueling depots, and washing areas that all contain pollutants, such as oil and grease. Because impervious surfaces do not allow rain to infiltrate into the ground, storm water runoff is generated. Surface runoff or storm water runoff then becomes a major threat to our nation and our clean water supply. In order to protect our clean water supply these waters have to be treated before being discharged from storm sewers to surface waters. Our WB-QB oil water separators will remove solids and all free and dispersed non-emulsified oil droplets 20 micron or greater in size and produce an effluent discharge of less than 5 PPM.

Washbay - Solids Settling Below Ground Oil Water Separators

Our new solids settling below ground separator is ideal for any application with high concentration of solids and oil in water. Most old conventional separators require long retention times, resulting in needlessly large units. They also have little in the way of solids settling. Our new innovative new design has both a much smaller footprint and a much higher removal efficiency for both oil and solids which lowers your total cost of ownership.

Coalescing Media

Washbay - Standard Coalescing Media

Our standard media has vastly superior properties compared to the traditional media used in oil-water separators. These properties result in a more efficient and effective separation than that attained by traditional coalescing media. A larger amount of surface area per cubic foot of media allows for greater oil drop coalescence. This media has 132 ft2/ft3 surface area for oil droplets to contact. Other typical coalescing media have about 48 ft2/ft3 to 68 ft2/ft3. A more efficient first step separation reduces the need for a second polishing step. Our media removes 99.9% of oil droplets 20 microns in size and larger. This meets EPA Method 1664 Revision A and European Standard EN 858-1.

Washbay - High Efficiency Coalescing Media

In some applications, a higher efficiency media is required for environmental concerns. This media uses its high surface to volume ratio to provide extremely efficient oil/ water/ solids separation. This media is constructed of oleophilic coalescing plates arranged in a cross-fluted configuration that provides between 31–69 square feet of oil coalescing surface and 7–17 square feet of solids settling area per cubic foot of media. Each plate has a series of angled ribs, which are sloped from the bottom of the separation chamber to the top at a 60° angle establishing a compound inclined surface.
