Hydraulic cutter head dredging is one of the most efficient ways of removing and transporting contaminated sediment. It does not require multiple handlings, thus reducing the likelihood of cross contamination during slurry transport. Brennan uses state-of-the-art shallow draft hydraulic cutter head dredges with articulating ladder capabilities. Each dredge is equipped with the latest Real-Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (RTK-GPS) equipment and outfitted with industrial-strength motion sensors. This system ties into an on-board computer system allowing the operator to view the process in real time as the dredge progresses through the designed cut.

During dredging, we continuously perform quality assurance tests to ensure that all soft organic material located within the dredge cut is removed. We also conduct tests throughout our capping processes to ensure we are meeting project requirements and to continuously tweak the system to optimize the placement method.
