Joseph Oat has been manufacturing pressure vessels and tanks longer than any other company in the United States. Our experience and expertise in the design and manufacturing of pressure vessels and tanks in all sizes and for a myriad of applications is well documented. From small precision vessels to huge equipment weighing up to 200 tons, Oat designs and fabricates equipment for chemical plants, refineries, utilities, pharmaceutical applications, special process needs, power applications including nuclear power, cryogenic applications, and other applications too numerous to mention. Our range of equipment includes storage vessels, reactor vessels, special process vessels, and columns. We have shipped equipment to all corners of the world.

Joseph Oat Corporation has a wealth of experience in the mechanical design and manufacture of Radioactive Fuel and Waste Storage Containers and Canisters. Our large and well equipped manufacturing facility is capable of producing containers ranging from large and heavy dry casks used for on-site storage of fuel to smaller but precision fabricated multi-canister overpacks and shipping containers for virtually any safety-related purpose.

In addition to vessels, heat exchangers, and radioactive fuel and waste containers, Joseph Oat has supplied a great variety of special safety related items which have complied with ASME Sec III, ASME NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and other standards and regulations. The variety of what we have produced and can produce is limitless and is adjustable to the customers needs.

With a lift capacity of 200 tons and 60 feet of height under the crane hook, combined with modern equipment, many decades of fabrication experience and a highly experienced fabrication and engineering staff, Joseph Oat Corporation can produce virtually anything which can be fabricated out of any metal or metal combination in existence. On many occasions, we have served our customers to do just that. All we need to find is an expressed customer need, and we go to work to fill it.

If two materials are weldable to each other, Joseph Oat most likely has a qualified welding procedure to weld them. With our experienced team of welding engineers and welding personnel, Joseph Oat has developed a large library of welding procedures which allow Oat to weld a variety of materials, ranging from the more common Carbon and Alloy Steels and Stainless Steels, to the more difficult reactive metals including Zirconium and Titanium. A partial list of metals with which we have welding experience is shown below. Having such extensive experience in meeting ASME Section IX requirements allows us to provide equipment for most every application and end use, regardless of the corrosiveness of the service.
