Clearing Ordnance
Specialist Planning Service
For the construction projects of private individuals, investors or municipalities, aerial bombs – which many also refer to as unexploded bombs – represent a risk that is difficult to calculate. You can therefore rely on the support of our specially trained specialists for ordnance clearance. We will take care of the planning and controlling of the clearance site. As one of the leading experts, we offer you our full service: from the creation of a clearing concept to the documentation of the entire process.
Ordnance Detection Service
Each project and each location are individual. Therefore, our experts at TAUBER adapt their procedures to suit your specific circumstances. Step by step, they select the right procedures – depending on the geological conditions of the site, the type of possible existing ordnance or local restrictions.
Ordnance Recovery Service
Detected ordnance must be uncovered, defused and recovered. TAUBER uses highly qualified and responsible staff for this purpose. Experienced pyrotechnicians with a certificate of competency according to Section 20 of the German Explosives Act perform this task with great care. We`re a safe pair of hands for your ordnance clearance.
Ordnance Disposal Service
The professional disposal of recovered and defused ammunition is the final step in the ordnance clearance. The TAUBER staff also draw on extensive expertise in this area. In several federal states, the ordnance clearance specialist is the only private company qualified to dispose of the ordnance. Specially developed facilities are used to destroy and dispose of the ordnance at explosive sites.
Geophysics
Geophysics Engineering Service
TAUBER offers an extensive range of services in the field of geophysics. In addition to ordnance clearance, the services offered include:
Magnetics Service
Magnetics is a passive geophysical process and is often used for the search for ferromagnetic materials, such as iron. It measures the local magnetic field. Thus, a ferromagnetic obstruction in the subsoil causes the magnetic field to change around the object. A magnetometer on the surface or in a borehole can detect this deviation and identify the obstruction as an abnormality.
Electromagnetics Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) Service
TAUBER experts rely on electromagnetics (TDEM) for applications with magnetic – yet non-metallic – interference, such as surfaces with recycled layers, basaltic substrates and brick debris. This method can also detect obstructions made of non-magnetic metals, such as brass.
Ground-Penetrating Radar Service
Various environmental factors, such as tracks, pipes or foundations, often make it difficult or impossible to detect weapons. In these situations, TAUBER experts rely on ground-penetrating radar, or GPR. Since non-metallic obstructions can also be detected with this method, it is also used for other purposes such as, for example, locating pipes.
Surveying Service
Precision and accuracy are the top priority when clearing ordnance. The TAUBER experts therefore used state-of-the-art surveying systems – from high-precision RTK GPS to millimeter-accurate tachymeters. By accurately measuring clearing areas, anomalies can be localized without ambiguity and the work can be documented as accurately as possible.
Test Field Service
The area with a size of more than 4,400 square meters is located in Münsterland and is used for geophysical investigation of various aspects of ordnance clearance. In addition to various test objects, vertical and inclined tubes are also buried. They allow visitors to sample a wide range of objects at different depths and orientations.
