Kane Environmental specializes in Hazardous Materials Management, including asbestos and lead-based paint surveys—during construction, demolition, redevelopment, and remodeling. Our geologists and environmental engineers also have a full breadth of experience working onsite for the many phases of remediation, demolition and redevelopment.

Minimizing liability exposure from potential soil or groundwater contamination for our clients is a key factor in the due diligence process. We address and eliminate environmental problems and create opportunities for investment and growth.

Having worked extensively on projects with both commercial and federal clients to evaluate environmental risks, we are very familiar with the planning, implementation, and reporting involved in cost recovery projects. We have experience in performing both large- and small-scale projects for various types of sites, and developed permanent solutions that achieve risk-based goals, minimize future liability, and maximize project value. We are recognized for developing practical remedies and easy to understand reports. Our success is based on efficient integration of data, and cost-effective solutions that minimize long-term liability.

We have extensive experience investigating, analyzing, and implementing remedial action plans. We evaluate and recommend practical solutions to complex environmental issues based on the lowest risk and highest value for our clients. From system design to installation to onsite management, our team has successfully completed numerous projects ranging from cleaning up and monitoring former gas stations and drycleaners to managing multimillion dollar Superfund sites.

We mobilize quickly to oversee the excavation, removal, and disposal (or recycling) of underground storage tanks (UST), in accordance with applicable regulations, to help minimize delays when encountered during construction. We provide long-term groundwater compliance monitoring and can assist in removing soil contaminated due to leakage. We have an experienced staff of Washington State-Certified UST Site Assessors and will employ ground-penetrating radar to determine the locations of USTs onsite. Our investigations are thorough; we also test to see if soil contaminated by a UST might have a negative impact on indoor air quality in facilities near the UST system.

Our professionals have a wide-range of experience and knowledge regarding industry standards, and local, state, and federal regulations. We provide on-site assistance, during construction, ensuring our client`s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) remain current. We perform regulatory reporting, required inspections, and implement system design and treatment without causing delays in projects.

The purpose of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs).  Kane Environmental follows the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E 1527-13, “Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process."
