KD’s advanced sludge separator performed a very useful function in oil & gas field for removing solids from fluids without using energy or using rotating parts. Due to the unique design large sludge particles would settle and could be removed from the process fluid by a dedicated drain system. The bottom of the system should be sloped to facilitate optimal functioning and self cleaning. The advanced sludge removal system should not be agitated and should overflow into the next compartment. The system can be easily installed inline with other KD treatment systems.

Oil and Gas waste water includes small amounts of free or dissolved hydrocarbons and solids that must be removed before the water can be re-used, injected or discharged. The level of removal (particularly for hydrocarbons) and disposal options are typically specified by the client. Treatment to remove dispersed hydrocarbons in the form of oil droplets from water relies on gravity separation, with addition of our unique coalescing plate pack internals. Within the KD separator, so called Skimmertank the process of coalescence takes place; that is, small oil droplets collide and form bigger droplets.

The SERIES FS620 filtration skids are designed to filter particulate from liquids and in addition can be converted to remove hydrocarbons from liquids by using KD’s world’s leading granular Absorption Media Cartridges for the removal of total petroleum hydrocarbons from water. The Dual Vessel Absorption cartridge units are designed to be a portable complete filtration system and can be easily into service with little more than upstream and downstream connections being made. The filtration skid is designed and build to process specifics for the required flows and micron retain age. By Maintaining absolute fluid cleanliness, end- users can dramatically increase the life of critical wear components on rotational equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing profitability.

The last decade oil and gas companies rapidly developed off and on shore activities.  This generated demand for compact oily water separators. Normally space is very limited on rigs and platforms and weight must be saved to the maximum possible extent. At KD’s “Advanced” CPI/TPI Separator (above ground) the water flows in a laminar stream between the plates in a horizontal direction. Oil is separated by floating upwards along the tops of the coalescing plates to the surface of the separator. Heavier particles at the same time settle along the bottom of the coalescing plates and slide down the plates to be collected in a sludge chamber. Our series separators can be fed by gravity or pumped. Each separator can be equipped with skimmers or integrated oil tank. The separator can be customized and prefabrecated in both carbon and stainless steel and be designed for high range of flow rate’s.
