There are multiple ways to install plastic random packing. Installation procedures vary depending on the column diameter, size of packing, packed bed height, the location of other internals, ect. Here are a few tips for installing Kempac Plastic Random Packing.

Kempac Plastic Random packing should be inspected on a regular basis as part of a maintenance program. Over time fouling (collection of deposits such as iron, carbonate and bacteria) may occur. Fouling rates will vary greatly depending on the water source. If possible is it a good idea to inspect the packing every six months. Packing can be removed and cleaned if necessary.

Kempac Plastic Random Packing can be cleaned. There are a variety of ways in which packing can be cleaned. Depending on the vessel manufacturer’s recommendation the packing may be removed for cleaning. There are numerous chemicals that may be used to clean packing such as 3% HCL or citric acid but you should always consult with the manufacturer before cleaning the packing.

Disposal of spent packing is typically done at regional landfills. The packing itself does not pose an environmental problem to the landfill, however the solids present with the fouling may be considered hazardous depending on the application in which they were used. Please consult with your regional landfill regarding the appropriate method of disposal.
