The Riceter is the world’s largest selling moisture meter. Originally developed in the 1950’s, the latest versions will test rice using both JIS and USDA rice moisture measurement criteria. Some versions have calibrations for testing other small seed crops like wheat and barley. The compact Riceter is battery powered and includes a leather carrying case that can be attached to your belt for simplified field testing.

This completely unique instrument uses Near Infrared Light for instant, non-contact, non-destructive testing of liquid and solid samples. Moisture, fat, oil, protein and other organic components can be simultaneously measured. Includes Tracker software for calibration, measurement, and analysis of samples. This instrument connects to the serial port of a PC for calibration and data tracking. It can be run without attachment to the PC once calibration(s) have been loaded into the KJT270. Passwords protect calibrations from unauthorized alteration. There is an optional printer that is available for printed output (without use of PC).

A Near-Infrared Light Source is reflected off the liquid or solid sample. The light resonates with the appropriate molecule(s) and a portion of the light is absorbed. The higher the moisture content, the higher the amount of absorbed light. After calibration, the moisture concentration values can be instantly measured without sample preparation. Calibrations and calibration points are stored within the analyzers, providing tremendous versatility for the diversified manufacturer. Moisture can be measured in the lab, near line (desktop), online/inline the manufacturing process or in field applications with our unique portables.

Moisture Determination Balances provide a primary method of moisture analysis by using the loss on drying (LOD) method. A liquid or solid sample is placed in the sample pan. The integrated balance weighs the initial sample. The balance`s lid is closed, start button pressed, and the sample is dried. The balance periodically weighs the sample a when the test is completed, automatically calculates the moisture content of the initial sample. Depending on the balance, drying can be set for a fixed time, continuous mode, or to dry until a gradient of weight loss is achieved. Our top of the line model will even predict the final moisture percentage and finish the test when the predicted value and associated confidence level meets a pre-determined level of precision. All systems include a three-year warranty.
