Antiscalant and Antifoulant

Pretreat Plus - Antiscalant

In the typical dosage range of 1–10 mg/L (neat), control of a wide range of inorganic scales at up to 100 x saturation values or higher is possible. By monitoring the concentrate stream and trend charts, optimal dosage can be achieved for the control of scales including that from calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, strontium sulfate, iron hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide and silica.

Pretreat Plus - Antiscalant

In the typical dosage range of 1-10 ppm (neat), control of a wide range of inorganic scales at high levels is possible. By monitoring normalization charts, an optimal dosage could be found empirically for the control of calcium carbonate scale and metal hydroxide or silica gels which may be prone to flocculation with organic polymers.

Membrane Cleaners

King-Lee - PowderHigh pH Cleaner

Prepare each cleaning solution using a ratio of 1 lb of cleaning powder to 10 gallons of permeate or DI water. If the system is not drained before cleaning, assume that approximately 4 gallons of water is present in each 8”x40 membrane element and 1 gallon of water is present in each 4”x40” membrane element after a thorough system flush.

Diamite - Low pH Liquid Cleaner

Perform a thorough low-pressure system flush. Prepare each cleaning solution as a 1:40 mixing ratio of neat cleaner to final prepared cleaning solution by filling the CIP tank with the appropriate volume of permeate or DI water, then adding chemical while mixing or circulating in the tank. If the system is undrained post-flush, assume approx. 4 gal of water remains in each 8”x40” membrane element (1 gal per each 4”x40”). Rinse completely after each cleaner.

Specialty Chemicals

Microguard - Antiscalant/Antifoulant Bio-Growth Inhibitor

Microguard A is a preservative designed to inhibit biological growth in diluted antiscalant and antifoulant solutions. This preservative quickly and easily mixes into solution and is ideal for particular antiscalant and antifoulant solutions that are diluted in the dosing tank. Mix 0.1 wt.% of Microguard A to the diluted solution.

Profloc - Coagulant

Significantly improves the removal of colloidal particles and dissolved polymers by multi-media filters and it’s compatible with Pretreat Plus 0100. Typical dosage range is between 0.5–10 ppm. Over and under dosing may decrease filtration efficiency. For assistance, 1 gallon water samples may be sent to King Lee Technologies for determining optimum dosage.

Microtreat - Microbiological Control Product

Strong but membrane safe microbiological control product able to loosen organic material to be cleaned off the membrane. Static soak in a 1% solution (1:100 v/v), Hot shot method in a 20% solution (20:100 v/v).
