Knestel - Volatile Particle Remover (VPR)
The Volatile Particle Remover (VPR) removes the volatile components in compliance with the law with an effectiveness close to 100%.
Knestel - Charging Module
Ions are generated in the charger module, which then charge the particles at the mixing point with the exhaust gas. The mixing chamber is integrated in the charging module.
Knestel - Ion/Particle Separator
The separator can be operated with different voltages, so that, on the one hand, ions can be left (e.g. for the function test) or separated, but also the particle size distribution can be determined.
Particle Measurement Technology
Knestel - Diesel Exhaust Particle Counter
The project objective was to develop a particle counter for exhaust gas measurement on Euro 6/VI vehicles with compression ignition engines. The particle counter uses clean-charging technology and is designed to charge clean air, so there is no contamination of the corona needle. The needle can also be easily changed via a service opening in the non-calibration part. The measurement of the particles takes place contact-free by means of Faraday Cup. Of course, the device complies with the PTB-A specifications and can therefore be used throughout Europe without any concerns.
Automotive
Knestel - Break Fluid Tester
The project objective was the development and production of a brake fluid tester with fully automatic test sequence for the automotive industry. With the help of the tester it can be decided whether the brake fluid continues to perform its function or whether it needs to be replaced. The boiling point method was chosen to measure the values. The power supply as well as the transmission of the measured data to be evaluated to a PC is wireless. With the additional LCD display on the brake fluid tester the temperature can be read directly. The connection of different sample needles is possible.
Knestel - Cordless Radio Hand Lamp
The project objective was the development and production of a radio hand lamp including accessories for the operation and control of axle play testers. During the in-house construction, great importance was attached to excellent robustness and breakage resistance. The function for illuminating the area to be examined was integrated into the device. According to KNESTEL‘s solution requirements a suitable radio receiver with control and I/O boards can be supplied optionally.

Knestel - Chemiluminescence Detector (CLD) for NOX Measurement
The project objective was to develop a device for measuring the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NO and NOX ) in the exhaust gas of vehicles and combustion processes. The challenge here was to achieve an enormously high dynamic range with measuring ranges between 0-100 ppm and 0-3000 ppm. The detection limit was to be only a few parts-per-billion. Another challenge was to minimize the falsification of the measurement signal by interfering components, such as water and carbon dioxide. In addition, the device had to be designed for a limited installation space.
Gas Analysis
Knestel - Air Monitoring Module
The project objective was the simultaneous monitoring of pollutants, oil residues, combustible gases and the water content of the air. The gases can be measured both in the intake air and in the compressed filling air. In combination with other KNESTEL products for compressor and level control a solution for high quality filling is created.
