Separation Rings

In a `twin brick` convertor assembly, a device is needed to maintain a constant gap between the fron and rear monoliths. Conventionally, this has involved a pressed metal (usually inconel) clip, which can have a tendancy to creep with thermal expansion and lift away from its seating position on the edges of the monolith. This allows turbulent gas to travel underneath the clip causing erosion and degradation of the expanding mat. Flexible knitted wire mesh separation rings overcome all of the above problems.

Knitted Wire Mist Eliminator / Demister

In many process operations the removal of entrained material in vapour flows is essential. Knitwire Products provide a wide range of mist eliminators and demister units suitable for any application. The principle of demisters and mist eliminators operation is based on having a large number of obstacles intercepting entrained droplets in a vapour flow. This large number of obstacles must provide minimum drop in pressure over the removal system.

DPF Seals

Wire mesh gaskets are a very important item in the assembly of DPF and SCR units. Further to protecting the intumescent support mat, wire mesh gaskets provide additional radial and axial support or just axial support depending on your requirements. If you are looking to design and build a reliable system it is imperative that a wire mesh gasket is included. We have a range of products available for use in DPF and SCR applications providing solutions for most standard size substrates.

EMI/RFI Shielding with Knitwire Mesh

Knitwire Products knitted mesh provides a very effective and affordable solution to radio frequenc interference (RFI) shielding. All electronic equipment sensitive to electromagnetic interference (EMI) must be shielded from external interference sources. In addition to this, any equipment which produces electromagnetic radiation, must be isolated to prevent any degradation to the performance of surrounding electrical and electronic equipment. Knitted wire mesh provides a perfect solution for many applications, especially where it is necessary to bridge gaps and leakage points in electronic enclosures.

Knitwire - Anti Vibration Mounts

Knitted wire mesh, either in the form of rope or compressed component, is very suitable for high temperature applications where other materials would fail in operation. A knitted wire component can be produced in any size, shape and density to enable riveting or spot welding keeping assembly and fastening costs to a minimum. Typical applications for this range of products are heat shields, turbo and engine mounts, down-pipes and manifolds. Most applications where vibrations cause radiated sound can be cured with the addition of a wire mesh ring, pad, rope or mat.

Air Gap Spacers & Cushion Pipes

Air Gap or `Twin Wall` pipes are often used for the manufacture of insulated down pipes. `Air gap` or `twin wall` pipes are often used for the manufacture of downpies. Insulation is provided by the air gap between inner and outer pipes, reducing heat loss from the exhaust gas prior to the catalytic converter. This results in improved light off times. Knitted wire mesh spacer rings and cushion pipes are situated between the inner and outer pipe acting as a bearing surface, maintaining a constant gap through changes in thermal expansion whilst absorbing and reducing vibration.

Knitwire - Introduce Clearmesh

We are pleased to introduce Clearmesh. This is a new product from the Knitwire group of companies for the owners, operators and designers of small mammal enclosures and free flight aviaries. Knitwire Clearmesh (also widely known as “pet mesh”, “zoo mesh” and “bird aviary mesh”) is supplied on rolls of up to 2.0m wide. It may be stretched taut to conform to a rigid structure or draped loosely as dictated by individual requirements.

Knitwire Products make and supply a comprehensive range of high quality knitted mesh sleevings and core assemblies for the manufacture of packings, seals and gaskets. Industrial knitting machines are used to produce continuous hollow or filled seal cores in round, square, rectangular, P or L shaped cross section. These can be used direct or as a feedstock material for further overbraiding or wrapping. Meshes are supplied in a wide range of dimensions, styles and materials including a full range of stainless steel and super alloys.
