Sludge is usually sediment in square or round basins and is lifted by a pump. Since the area of the basin used to be several square meters, the sludge must be moved to the pump. Often it is done by different scrapes. Scrapes are usually big machines, which are expensive in purchasing and need lot of energy. When troubles occur usually the basin must be emptied for reparation of the scrape.

DABSUS (DAB Sludge Utilization System) is a technology that solves sanitation problems in places without sewage net by turning septic sludge from a serious waste into a useful fertilizer. This means that DABSUS prevents environment pollution and allows returning of natural nutrients back to the soil.

Any organic matter originates from carbon dioxide and water thanks to photosynthesis where chlorophyll and sun energy play a crucial role. After death the organic matter is degraded back to carbon dioxide and water. Minerals which were taken up from the soil during growing of vegetation are after degradation released back to the soil. In order not to impoverish the soil, all the minerals which had been taken from the soil should be returned there.
