ECB - Erosion Control Blanket

Erosion control blankets are a worthy and innovative solution to all forms of soil erosion. Those are typically biodegradable blankets that provide temporary cover and support for establishing vegetation on bare soil areas. ECBs function by shielding bare soil and newly seeded areas against raindrops and wind erosion, providing a dense matrix of coconut coir that stabilizes and supports emergent vegetation and later decomposes to further aid in plant growth. They also help to increase precipitation infiltration and decrease soil crusting and compaction. ECBs are designed and fabricated in a variety of types that last from a few months to approximately three years.

Geo-Tex - Geo-Textils

Coir geotextiles are made from coconut fiber extracted from the husk of the coconut. It is a 100% natural product. Coir geotextiles are developed for specific applications in civil engineering like erosion control, ground improvement, filtration, drainage, river bank protection, road pavements, slope stability, etc. This biodegradable and environment-friendly material is virtually irreplaceable by any of the modern synthetic substitutes. Coir fiber is naturally resistant to rot molds and moisture it needs no chemical treatment. It is hard and strong and it has the strength and durability to protect the slopes from erosion while allowing vegetation to flourish. Geotextiles give maximum protection to the soil beneath until the grass takes root and provides permanent vegetation. After the soil is thus stabilized, the netting decomposes and provides nourishment to the grass growing in the soil.
