Filter Presses

Latham - Membrane Filter Presses

Membrane Filter Presses achieve a higher dryness of the solid by using an inflatable membrane within the filter plates to compress the remaining liquid from the filter cake. The range of achievable dry matter contents extends from 30 to over 80 percent. The membrane inflation medium consists either of compressed air or a liquid medium (e.g., water). Membrane filter presses offer an extremely increased degree of dewatering and can also reduce the filtration cycle time. This will lead to better work efficiency and productivity. The recessed membrane allows a more uniform cake thickness and a very good washing result.

Latham - Recess Plate Filter Press

A recess plate filter press has a recess in each plate with sloping edges in which the filter cake forms within this recess of the chambers. The recess can vary between 15mm – 50mm per filter plate.

Latham - Plate and Frame Press

A plate and frame filter press uses a combination of a solid flat plate and a hollow plate frame.

Latham - Test Press

Latham International have facilities for filtration trials both in house and on site. In house via our laboratory utilising pilot size equipment allowing basic trials to be carried out on small sample volumes. On Site via our trailer mounted self contained test rig that requires no additional incoming services other than the material to be filtered. Our mobile rigs allow for both conventional and membrane filtration up to 20 bar, along with inbuilt facilities for both cake washing and air blowing if required.

Hydraulic Ram Pumps & Other Pumps

Latham - Air Operated Diaphragm Pump (AODD)

An Air Operated Diaphragm Pump (AODD) is a type of positive displacement pump. The pump has two pumping chambers that are alternately filled and discharged by the movement of flexible diaphragms. The pump used compressed air is alternately fed to, and vented from, air chambers on the opposite sides of the diaphragms to create the pumping action. They are reliable, easy to maintain and very durable however they limited to low pressure, they can be noisy, and they can be prone to freezing if weather conditions drop below certain temperatures.

Latham - Centrifugal Pump

Centrifugal pumps are turbomachines that pump liquids by means of centrifugal force generated by rotating impellers. Depending on the design of the pump or impeller, the liquid leaves the impeller in radial or axial direction..

Latham - Progressive Cavity Pumps

Progressing cavity pumps are often installed for handling viscous fluids at high flow rates or where a high discharge pressure is required with a smooth flow. Typical fluids may include slurry, mashes, pulps, dough from waste water treatment plants, anaerobic digestion facilities and paper recycling plants.

Other Products

Latham - Filter Cloths

The filter press remains the most used filter for the separation of solids and liquids. Sizes to suit Filter Plates from 250mm Square up to 2400mm Square. Filter Press Cloths (sometimes referred to as Filter Bags) are tailored to suit individual requirements to suit filter presses from all manufacturers in a range of fabrics in natural and synthetic fibres including:

Latham - Filter Belts

Our filter belts can be used in a wide variety of applications for solid-liquid separation, e.g. sludge dewatering in belt press, sludge thickening in gravity belt thickener, filtration in horizontal vacuum belt filter, thickening in drum filter, conveyor belts, process belts in various industries, etc. Antistatic belts with conductive yarns are used for applications with danger of fire.

Latham - Ceramic Ram Pump

Latham International Ltd now manufacture the Ceramic Rams for the Ram Pumps, The Rams can also be manufactured and supplied in Alumina or Steel Coated. All these materials are resistant to abrasion and are hard-wearing.
