In the wastewater treatment industry, there are three (3) types of clarifiers used for clarification of secondary effluent: rectangular, mechanical, and gravity hopper. Legacy Environmental Process manufactures all three (3) types of clarifiers for various applications, although the most commonly used on package wastewater treatment systems is the gravity hopper type.

Improving the quality effluent discharged from secondary wastewater treatment systems with advanced wastewater treatment process is a major need. Various types of tertiary treatment methods such as intermediate surface sand filters, micro-strainers, polishing lagoons, and rapid sand filter systems are available. The most common method used in small package style wastewater treatment systems for tertiary treatment systems is the rapid sand filtration process.

Lift Stations are used to elevate and transport wastewater through collection systems when continuation of gravity flow is no longer feasible. In flat terrain, sewage en route to a wastewater treatment system may increase in depth where it is impractical to continue by gravity flow. Highly efficient sewage lift stations can be installed to lift the wastewater to an intercepting sewer at higher levels.

The contractor shall furnish and install one prefabricated fiberglass lift station, complete and ready for operation in accordance with the plans and specifications stated herein. The station shall be a Legacy Lift Model ____ as manufactured by Legacy Environmental, Leeds, Alabama. The lift station system shall be of the wet pit type, specifically using (grinder type) submersible pumps, designed for pumping ___ gallons per minute.  The complete system shall include all necessary equipment for efficient pumping operation.
