We are pleased to offer ELISA kits for the measurement of acute-phase proteins and heat shock proteins in rainbow trout/salmon and shrimp. In-house studies have demonstrated that serum levels of acute-phase proteins increase significantly in trout and salmon during bacterial infections. Assays for tilapia hemopexin and haptoglobin are in development.

SPARCL™ (Spatial Proximity Analyte Reagent Capture Luminescence) assays use two specific antibodies; one conjugated to HRP, the other to acridan, a chemiluminescent substrate. When HRP and acridan conjugated antibodies bind to their target biomarker they are brought into close proximity. Upon addition of hydrogen peroxide (trigger solution), HRP catalyzes oxidation of proximal acridan molecules causing a flash of chemiluminescence that is proportional to biomarker concentration. Acridan molecules distant from HRP are not oxidized and therefore produce no luminescence. This principle allows development of a range of rapid and sensitive homogeneous immunoassays.

Kits are available for species including mouse, rat, rabbit, dog, pig, and monkey. Our kits are widely referenced in the scientific literature. IMPORTANT: Serum or plasma that is to be used for measurement of cardiac biomarkers must not be collected by cardiac puncture or any other method that causes damage to the heart. Cardiac puncture releases very high levels of cardiac biomarkers into the blood thereby invalidating study results. Immunoglobulin levels can vary with age, health status, and drug treatment. Measurement of immunoglobulin levels can therefore provide important information in preclinical research. Life Diagnostics manufactures ELISA kits for measurement of immunoglobulin levels (IgA, IgE, IgG and IgM) in species including mouse, rat, guinea pig, rabbit. cat, dog, pig, monkey, camel, cow, chicken, and turkey. All assays are in a 96-well format. The total assay time is approximately 2.5 hours.

We manufacture ELISA kits for measurement of methoxy-PEG and non-methoxy-PEG (free and conjugated) as well as ELISA kits for detection of anti-PEG IgM and IgG in mouse, rat, monkey, and human serum or plasma. PEG coated plates and blocking buffers are available for those interested in developing their own PEG assays. Researchers should be aware that many commercially available ELISA buffers contain Tween-20 or other polyoxyethylene detergents that significantly interfere with PEG assays. Our blocking buffer is devoid of polyoxyethylene detergents and can be used to block and stabilize plates coated with PEGylated proteins or PEG antibodies.
