Litre Meter pioneered the development of the world-renowned VFF rotary piston flow meter: accurate, effective, and versatile flow meters, to suit a range of applciations in the Oil and Gas sector. The VFF Flow Meter is the meter of choice in Chemical Injection applciations or those that require high pressure tolerance, low flow capabilities, and corrosion resistance, such as: Chemical Injection, High Pressure, Subsea.

The FlowPod is Litre Meter’s display unit, designed alongside the VFF Rotary Piston Flow Meter. The FlowPod comes in a compact and lightweight, flame-proof Stainless Steel enclosure that is only 85mm in diameter and weighs 1.6kg. It is ideal for offshore and all Hazardous area applications and is supplied with one 316L Exd plug and one plastic plug.

This describes the rotor and the chamber in which it rotates. It’s a separate item that can be removed for inspection and calibration. A side benefit is that it enables pressure independent measurement.

Flow meters for 20,000 PSI and beyond: Litre Meter has always concentrated on the extremes of metering, typically at low flows and/or at high pressure. The VFF range has many uses in the oil and gas industry and meets the high specifications required. Outside of oil and gas, 2,500 bar meters are in service. A few years ago, the trend towards 20,000 psi ratings in the Gulf of Mexico saw our flow meters installed in projects in the region. Since 1997 numerous VFF meters for 1,380 bar in oil and gas applications have been made. The same design can be used on 22.5 psi (1,550 bar) with minor modification.

Chemical injection is the process designed to assist in the production of oil where various chemicals are injected into the crude oil to provide a degree of protection.  For example; a scale inhibitor will prevent the build-up of scale on the pipes and fittings used to transport the oil on its journey to the refinery.  Flow meters are used to monitor and control the amount of chemicals added to the crude oil and biocide prevents the build-up of organisms in the pipe.
