LONGBOW - Fire Control Radar System
The LONGBOW Fire Control Radar (FCR) system is built by a Joint Venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman for the Apache attack helicopter. As a force multiplier that has been battle-proven in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, the LONGBOW FCR system provides Apache aircrews with automatic target detection, location, classification and prioritization, while enabling rapid, multi-target engagement in all weather conditions over multiple types of terrain and through battlefield obscurants. The LONGBOW FCR system has been in full-rate production since 1996, with the first unit equipped in 1998. To date, 500 LONGBOW FCR systems have been delivered to the U.S. Army and international customers.
Lockheed - Joint Air Battle Management System
The nature of conflict is becoming increasingly complex. Threats to Australia’s national security come from: air, space, sea, land, and the cyber spectrum as outlined in the Australian 2020 Defence Strategic Update. Australia’s response to current and emerging threats requires the modernisation and closer integration of Australian Defence Force (ADF) capabilities and embodying the Royal Australian Air Force`s (RAAF) vision to transform the Air Force into a fifth-gen-enabled force. The apex of this modernisation will be a next-generation joint air battle management system: Project AIR6500.
Lockheed - Pilot Training System
The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System will deliver performance-based options to train the next generation of Australian pilots over the next 25 years. Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of an integrated solution tailored for all future pilots for the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army. The initial seven year program is valued at AU$1.2 billion. Performance-based options for up to 25 years will provide the opportunity to extend the length and increase the value of the total contract. The Lockheed Martin-led team that includes Pilatus Aircraft, Ltd. and Hawker Pacific will lead the delivery of an integrated solution tailored for all future pilots for the Australian Defence Force.
Lockheed Martin - Advanced Gunnery Training System
The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare. Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Gunnery Training System (AGTS) prepares Warfighters to a level of proficiency that permits rapid transition to the next level: live fire or combat gunnery. A reliable and cost-effective system, the AGTS is a state-of-the-art simulator designed by Lockheed Martin to train individuals, crews and platoons in the skills of precision gunnery. The AGTS provides training on procedures, basic skills, crew coordination and crew drills. Section and platoon members practice target recognition, fire control and distribution while being engaged by targets.
Lockheed Martin - Radar System
The solid-state phased array AN/TPQ-53 radar system, or, Q-53, detects, classifies, tracks and determines the location of enemy indirect fire in either 360 or 90 degree modes. The Q-53 is replacing the aging AN/TPQ-36 and AN/TPQ-37 medium-range radars in the U.S. Army’s inventory. Compared to the Q-36 and Q-37, the Q-53 provides enhanced performance, including greater mobility, increased reliability and supportability, lower life-cycle cost, and reduced crew size.
Lockheed Martin - Synthetic Aperture Radar
Security concerns across the global landscape reinforce the need for continuous awareness of one’s environment. A capability that can provide intelligence imagery anytime, in any type of weather, is critical to enhancing situational awareness and gaining a tactical edge. That capability is Synthetic Aperture Radar, or SAR.
Lockheed Martin - Autonomic Logistics Information System
It takes more than steel, advanced electronics and engine thrust to make the F-35 Lightning II, the world`s fifth generation fighter, take flight. It is the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) that gives F-35 Lightning II operators the ability to plan ahead, to maintain, to plan and sustain its systems over the life of the air vehicle. ALIS provides the IT backbone and capabilities to support current and future Warfighters across the U.S. and allied military services.
