Following on from the success of the LAT2000 Series, we now introduce the Arc2 range, able to record the same data, but with an impressive 16 MB of memory in only 2.4 g. More detail can be recorded on the diving behaviour, or data can be collected over a much longer period of time. Arc2 tags are easily mounted onto a ring on the leg of a waterbird, for minimal impact, and to record when birds are on the water as well as when they are diving for food.

The Biotracker was designed by fieldworkers familiar with radio-tracking, who understood the need for a small lightweight receiver when out for long days, but still wanted sophisticated features and a long battery life. Moreover, we thought about where the controls needed to be, and where the antenna connection should be, so that it was easy to use. It’s now been manufactured for over 15 years, and is still as popular as when it first emerged.

These systems permit the unique identification of over 80,000 individual animals. Both ID-only and ID plus sensors (temperature, pressure/depth or motion) can be simultaneously monitored and recorded.
