Sensors
GridKey - Model SlimSensor - Sensor
Using the experience installing over 1000 LV monitoring systems using a variety of sensors types, the GridKey team specified a sensor specifically for retrofit installations. The SlimSensor works on the same principle as a Rogowski (providing a dI/dT output) however does not suffer from the accuracy issues (cross feed from adjacent conductors and positional accuracy of conductor within sensor aperture) typical rope Rogowski sensors suffer from. The sensor is flexible and can be installed single-handed if required due to space constraints.
GridKey - Model FlexiSensor - Sensor
When required to fit around larger conductors, multiple conductors or around fuse handles, a longer sensor can be supplied. Although available in various lengths the most commonly supplied sensor is approximately 30cm long.
GridKey GridHound - Model GH600 - Sensor
The GridHound sensors were designed by the GridKey team specifically for retrofit to existing LV cabinets and they remain our most accurate sensors. These have been fitted in more than 1000 substations as well as installed in underground joints to monitor mid-point and end-point voltages on the network.
GridKey - CT Sensors
These sensors are supplied with the MCU520MV and measure the current output of 400:5 ratio CT’s fitted to MV cables. The sensors generate 100mV for 5A, which corresponds to 100mV for 400A MV current, i.e. 250µV/A, which is the same output as the standard GH600 Rogowski sensors. An internal voltage setting resistor sets the full scale output voltage to 100mV – this resistor also serves as open circuit shock protection for the installer.
Metrology and Communications Units (MCU)
GridKey - Model MCU318 - Metrology and Communications Unit
Our cost effective system continuously and accurately measures and calculates a wide range of grid condition data. The MCU 318 uses the GPRS/Mobile data network as standard but also features the ability to support additional network requirements, e.g. Wired Ethernet. Interface modules permit customised interface solutions, providing highly flexible means for additional sensing and measurement capabilities. The MCU is fully configurable at installation time via a WI-FI access point with a laptop or other device. Measurements are also available for viewing in real-time. At any point in operation, the data reporting and alert messaging settings for each MCU can be individually re-configured via its network interface. The operator can select the MCU measurement reporting interval from every minute, hour or day as needed. Any stored data can be retrieved.
