Luvata has been manufacturing copper hollow conductors for the most demanding applications for nearly sixty years.  Hollow conductors are sometimes referred to as conductors, hollow wire, hollow magnet wire, square copper tube or rectangular copper tube.

Our copper hollow conductors provide new possibilities to cool down electric motors. The internal cooling hole on the stator windings enables efficient thermal transfer out from the core, exactly from the source where the heat is generated. Cooling with air improves the performance significantly and liquid cooling even more. As a result increased power and torque are achieved by direct cooling with Luvata’s hollow conductors.

Our copper rods are designed to meet the highest industry standards, available in oxygen-free copper (ASTM F68), CuAg silver-bearing copper, and mechanically robust copper alloys CuZr, CuCr1Zr and CuNiSi. With a wide variety of shapes, including rectangular, round, square, hexagonal, and trapezoidal, and an extensive range of sizes and tempers, our rods are engineered for versatility across diverse electrical and industrial applications.

Copper is one of the safest materials for electrical earthing because it is durable, resists corrosion in soil and enables a quick discharge when lightning strikes. Our copper tapes are commonly used for electric conducting, grounding and lightning protection. Luvata’s copper tapes are produced from high quality copper according to customers’ specifications, and available bare or tinned. Sizes range from 25mm x 3mm up to 63mm x 10mm.

Oxygen-free copper anodes are manufactured from extremely pure copper (99.95%). These anodes are used for the alkaline plating processes in cyanide and pyrophosphate baths. Oxygen-free copper has no pores in the cast state and no copper oxide inclusions. We  have considerable expertise in electrochemical processes and works closely with both the chemical industry and plating line producers to continually improve products and production methods.

The phosphorous content of these anodes is P 0.04 - 0.06%.  In our casting process, phosphorus is added to the master alloy which melts very fast.  Due to diffusion and continuous movement of the copper melt, the melt is instantly evenly distributed in the melt.  This leads to even phosphorus content in each anode. Our phosphorous copper anodes are widely used in the plating of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and in acid copper plating baths.

Luvata supplies a wide range of products and services to the metallurgical industry. Our casting moulds, cooling elements, copper elements for inductor furnaces, copper staves, sand cast cooling elements and slag runners are widely used in furnaces and smelters for iron and steel production. We also supply anode hanger bars for use in aluminium smelting furnaces.
