The MCC (Magaldi Casting Cooler) is today a well-proven technology for castings conveyance and air cooling, that combines the outstanding reliability of the Magaldi Superbelt® to an efficient cooling process.

Magaldi has developed a reliable belt feeder for handling hot and abrasive materials. The working concept is similar to the one of conventional belt feeders installed under hoppers, but the use of the Magaldi Superbelt® conveying technology ensures a higher resistance to heavy impacts and shock loads.

The Magaldi Ecobelt® WA is the ideal steel conveyor belt for dry extraction, cooling and handling of bottom ash produced by waste incinerators.  According to boiler lay-out and restrictions, the same equipment can also be used to convey grate siftings.

Sinter plants agglomerate iron ore fine particles (dust), with other fine materials at high temperatures, to create a product that can be used in a blast furnace. The final product, so called “sinter”, is then used to convert iron into steel.

The MAC® (Magaldi Ash Cooler) is a unique system for dry extraction, air cooling and mechanical handling of bottom ash from pulverized coal-fired boilers.  With hundreds of installations worldwide since the 1980’s, the MAC® is the world’s leading dry bottom ash handling system for utility and industrial boilers of any size and burning any kind of solid fuel.

The MAR® (Magaldi Ash Recycling) is an improvement of the MAC® (Magaldi Ash Cooler) system for dry extraction, cooling and handling of bottom ash from solid fuel fired boilers. That innovative process used to recycle both “dry” bottom ash and economizer (ECO) ash in the combustion chamber aims at converting them into fly ash.

Steel plants using Electrical Arch Furnaces (EAF) need to load an EAF with a large amount of steel scraps.

The Magaldi Superbelt is a steel belt made of partially overlapping steel pans bolted onto a steel double-wire mesh, thus forming a virtually sealed belt conveyor. The patented method of connecting the pans to the mesh belt leaves all elements free to thermally expand in any direction without permanent deformation. As a result, the Superbelt® withstands temperatures higher than any other known conveyor. Its design is based on a multi-link concept. Even if the double-wire mesh is severely damaged, the conveyor continues to run without sudden failures and the plant operators can schedule its maintenance according to operation needs.
