Magnetic Hold - Custom Alnico Magnets

Magnetic Hold, Inc. is a prominent supplier and manufacturer specializing in cast and sintered Alnico magnets, recognized for their stability under high temperatures, high magnetic flux density, and corrosion resistance. Developed in the 1940s, Alnico magnets consist mainly of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt, providing exceptional performance in diverse industrial applications. The company excels in customization, enabling the manufacture of magnets in intricate and complex shapes through both casting and sintering processes. While cast Alnico magnets are better suited for high-temperature applications, maintaining significant strength up to 1000°F, sintered Alnico offers superior mechanical properties due to its fine grain structure, ideal for applications requiring short magnets. Magnetic Hold offers a range of Alnico grades with specific tolerances and magnetization directions, ensuring tailored solutions to meet precise customer requirements.

Magnetic Hold - Custom Ceramic Ferrite Magnets

Ceramic magnets, also known as hard ferrite magnets, were developed in the early 1960s as an affordable alternative to metallic magnets. Composed of barium or strontium, these magnets are characterized by their hardness and brittleness, combined with lower energy properties compared to other magnetic materials. Despite these traits, ceramic ferrite magnets are favored for their excellent resistance to demagnetization and corrosion, as well as their cost-effectiveness. They retain about 45% of their room-temperature magnetic specifications at 350°F, with reversible magnetization changes up to approximately 840°F. Commonly used grades like Ceramic 5 and Ceramic 8 vary in peak energy product and resistance to demagnetization. Magnetic Hold offers a range of shapes and custom magnetization directions to suit different industrial applications. The standard manufacturing processes include sintering or injection molding, producing durable and efficient magnets ideal for various uses.
