The KMA 333 Hydraulic Submersible Pump
The KMA 333 is of the axial flow design, with impeller pitch adjusted to maximize its efficiency when transferring viscous products at moderate to high-head conditions (up to 265 feet). The pump features a stainless steel intake, impeller, stator, and plenum, and can be outfitted with a stainless steel motor for use with aggressive chemicals including caustics and acids. Its dual lip Teflon seal assembly is rated to pressures of 500 psi, and adds an extra level of protection during Hazmat transfers. The pump"s narrow profile design (<12" diameter) allows it to be deployed through tight access points including standard Butterworth-style openings on vessels. Capable of pumping over 2,400 gallons per minute, the KMA 333 outperforms other pumps in its class and has proven its worth in numerous testing programs and field operations.
Heavy-Duty Debris Barriers/Containment Systems
For permanent or semi-permanent installations and industrial applications a more durable type of boom/barrier may be more suitable. These systems are constructed of a heavy-duty belt fabric suspended by a series of plastic floats. The advantage of these barriers is their increased tensile strength and durability. Specialized fabrics and floats are available for particularly harsh environments such as those encountered in industrial processing lagoons and holding pits.
Drum Skimmers
Drum skimmers operate under the principle of adhesion. The rotating drum has an oleophilic surface that collects the floating material, delivers it to a collection bin, then pumps it into a storage tank. These skimmers, which can be hydraulically or pneumatically powered, are best suited for heavier concentrations of material and for episodic operations where personnel continuously or periodically monitor the recovery effort.
Absorbent Pads
Absorbent pads provide an economical solution to small spills and routine cleaning activities during maintenance operations. Special fabrics are available to recover oil or specific chemicals. They are available in packages of 100 or 200 units.
Poly Overpack Drums
The 85-gallon overpack drum can be used to store leaking or unmarked/abandoned 55-gallon drums. Once the drum has been positioned in the overpack unit and sealed, the overpack provides a secondary containment system that is in compliance with D.O.T. regulations (required for transportation). These overpack drums are lightweight, sturdy, and feature an easy-sealing top.
