MCL - Anti-Slip Surfacing

MCL manufacture a proven range of durable anti-slip panels that provide a safe, slip resistant surface for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. These high specification, custom made pre-fabricated panels are designed for bridge decks, stairs, railway platforms and many other applications. Our pre-fabricated anti-slip panels allow for fast installation with minimal closure of busy areas and can be used immediately after works are completed.

Onyx - Duckbill Rubber Check Valves

Onyx Duckbill rubber check valves efficiently ensure the mono-directional flow of water, slurries, sewerage and sludge. The valve consists of an elastomeric "duckbill" which, with the chosen connection, provides a simple rugged design with no mechanical parts that would be prone to wear and jam in conventional valves. The Slip-on Check Valve is fixed by slipping over a pipe and securing with stainless steel clamp bands available in 304 or 316. The Flanged Check Valve has a flanged connector and a galvanised carbon steel back-up flange with stainless steel options. The Inline Check Valve is a simple reliable cost effective method of back flow prevention that is designed to be installed between two mating flanges.

MCL - Penstocks

This type of Penstock is designed to control a maximum head of 5 metres from both directions (on-off seating) by means of a plate set in runners, which moves up and down. They are manufactured from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and 316 Stainless Steel and are BS7775 compliant. Installation is easy whether its wall, pipe or flange mounted. They are also suitable for use in fresh, salt and waste water environments. Complete stainless steel Penstocks can also be manufactured to control higher water pressures to suit your application. Designs can be tailor made to suit the customer`s requirements.

MCL - Flap Valves

This is the most common non-return valve available and is manufactured from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) with Stainless Steel 316 parts. The construction is lightweight but very robust in its design. It can be mounted to a flat wall or on an angle. It can be suited for mounting onto a PN10 or PN16 flange and can also be spigot mounted using a flexible coupling or with a conical spigot. The materials used also ensure that the maintenance required is minimal. Sizes start from 100mm diameter and bespoke designs can be tailor made to suit the customer`s requirements.

Tilting Weirs

The Tilting Weir allows you to accurately control the upstream water levels by means of a weir plate fixed to two side cheeks that rotate through a 90° axis located into the base frame of the weir. The two side cheeks are driven by two gearboxes mounted into the top crossbeam. The weir can be manually operated using a `T` key or via an electric actuator.

MCL - Fish & Elver Passes

Martin Childs Ltd are constantly developing and improving our range of fish friendly products to enable the movement of migrating fish and elvers over and around water control structures. We strive to find solutions for the many different problems whether they are aggression of the tide, heavy silt deposits or general debris build up, there is always another situation awaiting a solution.

Pressure Sensors

Onyx - Pressure Sensors - Valve Calibrating Machine

Onyx Valve Calibrating Machine provides a reliable method to calibrate gauges, switches, or transmitters originally supplied as integral components on Onyx Isolator Rings. This rugged machine is light weight, completly portable, and requires no external power, making it the ideal companion for field service. It can generate any pressure from near full vacuum to +400 psi. Calibrating instruments on a conventional isolator ring is virtually impossible: As soon as you break the fitting connections, you risk loosing fill fluid or getting air bubbles into the instrument. Air must be excluded because it will compress to a smaller volume under pressure. This forces the rubber sleeve to stretch, increasing the error in the gauge reading. Beyond a certain point the rubber reaches its limit and pressure indication ceases. Even a miniscule air bubble can adversely affect performance, leaving the pressure instrument worse off than before you attempted to calibrate it.

Onyx - Pressure Sensors - Diaphragm Seal

The Onyx Model-K series diaphragm seal provides outstanding protection for pressure instruments against chemical attack and corrosion.
