Martin - Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Marine Sewage Treatment Plants

MARTIN Systems GmbH is an internationally active company in the field of wastewater treatment. We offer complete on-board systems for maritime applications, including:

Martin - Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Package Plant

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) is a wastewater treatment process that combines membrane filtration with biological treatment. This innovative technology offers several advantages over the conventional activated sludge process. These advantages include higher biomass concentration, elimination of secondary clarifiers, and improved effluent quality.

Martin - Cruise Food Waste Treatment Plant

Food waste treatment is a very important task on board cruise ships. Every day, 0.8-2 kg per person per day needs to be processed, but high amounts of food waste affect the performance of the wastewater system. Our food waste systems are easy to operate and require minimal maintenance. Food waste systems consist of one or more feeding stations (disposers) in the kitchen and a collection tank (capacity 3 or 5 m³). The food scraps are crushed and enter the holding tank by vacuum, resulting in only a small pipe diameter and less flushing water. Optionally, a skimmer can be offered for drainage if the wastewater system has sufficient capacity.

Components

Martin - Mechanical Pre-Treatment Plant

For a safe and low-maintenance operation of membrane activated sludge plants, hair, fast substances, etc., which can form undesirable plugs in the membrane biology, must be screened out of the raw wastewater. However, the organic contents from the screenings should be returned to the biological treatment stage as a carbon source.

Martin - Wastewater Treatment Plants

The BMA system was developed to enable global ship operations and to ensure reliable compliance with strict worldwide wastewater standards. Our BMA® systems treat all wastewater streams on board, such as black water, gray water from accommodations, gray water from the galley and laundry water. Wastewater from BMA® systems meets IMO MEPC.227(64) and USCG requirements including Alaska Title. Our BMA® S-Line also meets the enhanced nutrient requirements for nitrogen and phosphorus under MEPC.227(64) for cruise ships operating in special areas under MEPC.290(62), thanks to the integration of anoxic treatment stages and selected phosphate elimination.

Martin - Vacuum Systems & Toilets

Martin offers vacuum systems and equipment for the collection of black and sometimes gray water. Our vacuum stations usually have double vacuum and drain pumps and vacuum collection tank, which provides excellent vacuum performance, especially when used simultaneously.

Drinkable Water

Aqua CUBE - Mobile Water Treatment Unit

The Aqua CUBE is a cost-efficient, compact and mobile water treatment unit based on a modular membrane filtration system that allows available water resources to be used for specific purposes such as industrial water or drinking water.

CUBE - Mini Filter

Filter Characteristics: Membrane area: 0,45 m². Gaps between membranes: 6 mm.

Paul - Water Backpack Unit

Paul is a water filter that ensures a fast supply of drinking water either in disaster areas or in rural areas. The device filters pathogens out of the water, making it drinkable and offering effective protection against cholera, typhus and other infectious diseases. paul can be carried by only one person as a backpack to remote areas since it weighs only 20 kg.
