MAS - Statutory Nuisance Service

MAS consultants specialise in nuisance and specifically statutory nuisance.  Our team have experience working for local authorities drafting and serving notices and Mike Stigwood provides training on the enforceability of Environmental Protection Act 1990 Section 80 abatement notices.

MAS - Expert Witness Services

An expert witness is a specialist that is asked to provide expert knowledge and opinion in a court of law, a tribunal or an inquiry.  The primary role of the expert witness is to ensure the information provided is truthful and impartial.  To do this effectively requires that the expert is fully independent, well-practiced, competent and strongly knowledgeable in all aspects of the subject matter.

MAS - Planning Service

Planning, like Environmental Health, is administered by your local council. Where there are noise or odour issues the planning officer will consult with the environmental health professionals. We are contracted to advise a large number of local authority planning and environmental health departments on a wide range of issues and regularly provide expertise at planning inquiries.

MAS - Noise Sensitive Planning Service

Planning for new noise-sensitive residential property next to existing sources of noise. It is not uncommon for planning permission to be granted to noise-sensitive projects such as residential housing next to existing sources of noise.  The existing businesses that are operating and generating the noise, such as entertainment venues, motor sport, scrap metal recycling centres or construction industry, may be concerned about having their business affected by the requirement to abate what becomes a statutory nuisance – a nuisance that affects a person’s use of their home; from limiting or preventing adequate sleep to simply generating unwanted noise upon a balcony or garden when it would be in use.

MAS - Right to Light Experts Planning and Modelling Services

Protecting access to natural light through planning and modelling. We offer advice and guidance on site layout planning to protect the natural light either inside of buildings or in open spaces between them such as gardens or other amenity areas.  This includes assessments through modelling the affect of new developments on existing ones, analysing the obstruction caused by buildings, fences and trees/hedges.
