Sterilization - Steam

SAL - Autoclave Tape

SAL Autoclave Tape is a process indicator used for Steam Sterilization process. It is a proven method of affirming a complete sterilization cycle in both Gravity and Pre-Vacuum sterilization process. White indicator lines change to black when proper level of water and temperature conditions have been achieved. The Chemical used cannot be rubbed off and cannot contaminate surgical instruments. Its Adhesive property remains constant in sterilization process. The Tape is made of Saturated Crepe Paper with colour changing properties at a temperature 121°C or 134°C.

Batch - Process Monitoring PCD

The gke Steri-Record? batch monitoring systems (BMS) are used for routine monitoring in steam sterilization processes in each cycle to detect insufficient air removal, leaks and/or non condensable gases (NCG) in steam. Monitoring temperature and pressure alone does not provide sufficient information to ensure steam penetration. The gke BMS is a Type 2 indicator according to EN ISO 11140-1, consisting of a ,,specific test load" (Process Challenge Device = PCD) and "indicator system" (indicator strip). The BMS is a hollow load test according to EN 867-5.

The gke Steri-Record - Model EO - Mini-Bio-Plus Self-Contained Biological Indicators (SCBI)

The gke Steri-Record Mini-Bio-Plus self-contained biological indicators (SCBI) are used for validation and monitoring of ethylene oxide sterilization processes. After sterilization the SCBI can be incubated by the user without a microbiological laboratory. The SCBI can be used for routine monitoring inside packs or containers. They have also been designed to be used inside Bio-Compact process challenge devices (Bio-C-PCD). The SCBI consists of a plastic vial with a minimized internal volume containing a biological indicator spore disc and a glass ampoule with growth medium and pH-indicator inside. The outside label of the SCBI contains a type 1 indicator according to EN ISO 11140-1 to check if the SCBI has been in a sterilization process.

Packaging Monitoring indicators Package monitoring indicators are used inside packs or containers to monitor all relevant parameters of hydrogen peroxide sterilization processes. Package monitoring indicators only provide sterility information at the position inside the chamber where they are located. It is not possible to monitor internal areas of hollow goods, i.e., tubes and/or minimal invasive surgical (MIS) instruments with package indicators as they cannot be placed into hollow devices. Test set and process challenge devices (PCD) used in hydrogen peroxide sterilization processes. The indicator strip is placed in the test Device. The test Device is sterilized together with other packages and containers.

Model LTSF - Biological Indicator - Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde (LTSF) sterilization processes according to EN ISO 11138-5 G. Stearothermophilus available with population of 106, paper carrier the growth medium also contains a neutralization agent for remaining formaldehyde, so that the pre-treatment with Na2SO3 is not required as described in EN ISO 11138-5.

Spore Strips

Spore strips for dry heat sterilization processes consist of bacteria spores inoculated on filter paper with the size of 6 x 38 mm and packaged in glassine envelopes. They are available with population106 inoculated with B. atrophaeus (# 9372). A microbiological laboratory with sterile work bench is required to aseptically transfer the spore strips into the growth medium after sterilization. The growth medium for optimized growth of B. atrophaeus spore strips is also available.

SAL Autoclave Mitts for removing hot trays and racks from the autoclave. The silicon grip can hold hot and wet items safely and securely with the new mitts. They are made of heat deflecting silicone, insulating the user from hot instruments, trays and equipment. The shark tooth ridges provide a secure grip of items, even when wet. They are sterilizable, washable and resistant to high temperatures.
