Fabrication Services

Fabrication of Modularized Process Systems starting from clients’ process packages or detailed drawings. Our modularization expertise helps customers increase their competitive edge. Our fully modular engineering design reduces field installation costs, and our shop fabricated modules are up and running faster and more efficiently than field-assembled components.

Project Management

Merichem provides professional project management support to guide all projects from conceptual design through delivery and start-up at the customer’s site. Merichem’s project managers review the specific customer requirements and work closely with the customer and Merichem’s own Engineering to ensure those requirements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner. Utilizing a critical chain project management approach, Merichem’s project managers are able to keep project schedules shorter compared to field-assembled components. Merichem’s project managers insure that equipment components and modular systems are shipped well-protected and arrive at the customer’s site in good condition. Merichem provides required support to the customer during construction tie-ins, commissioning and start-up of Merichem process units.

Technical Services

Merichem’s value proposition is backed by the engineering know-how of our Technical Services department. Merichem has dedicated technical service engineers who are available worldwide on a 24/7/365 basis to assist Licensees. Our specialists take pride in their record of long-term customer satisfaction.

Engineering Services

Merichem provides both basic and detailed engineering for our licensed technologies for hydrocarbon treating systems. Merichem starts with the Basis of Design from the customer and using proven methods completes the Process Engineering Package. This basic FEED package includes process flow diagrams, material balances, piping & instrumentation diagrams, equipment & instrument data sheets, chemical consumption requirements and effluent summaries. Depending upon the customer’s requirements, Merichem also completes detailed mechanical engineering for proprietary equipment items and in the case of modular supply, the full design package. Merichem utilizes current state-of-the-art software to produce a 3-dimensional model of the modular product before proceeding to fabrication.

Merichem - Spent Caustic Management

Merichem® is the leader in spent caustic management via recycling and beneficial reuse. With deep expertise and proven end-to-end solutions, we can reduce waste disposal and reporting, remove spent caustics reliably and reuse them to improve environmental sustainability. Spent Caustics are industrial solutions, typically containing sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide produced from refinery and chemical scrubbing.

Merichem - Off-Spec Chemical Management

Merichem® can help companies find an end-use for chemical streams that fail to meet their own production specifications. We have developed a wide range of applications, providing us the ability to match these off-spec chemicals or surplus to end user needs without compromising performance.

Merichem - Recyclable Caustics

As a cost-effective alternative to virgin caustic materials, Merichem® provides the pulp and paper and other industries with recyclable caustic products from caustic treating operations in various refinery and petrochemical processes. In addition to reducing chemical costs, this approach helps companies achieve sustainability goals by promoting beneficial reuse.

Oil and Gas Production

Oil Production

More often than not producers are utilizing vapor recovery to mitigate environmental hazards and maximize the value of their gas streams. Merichem’s LO CAT process has proven to be a highly effective processing step in producing sulfur free vents and associated gases; at more than a dozen installations throughout Asia, Europe, and North America.

Refining

Refinery Gases

While the H2S that was dissolved in the original crude oil was flashed off during production and at the start of processing; additional H2S is generated by the reduction of other sulfur compounds during the refining process. Any processing carried out on a sulfur-containing stream will generate a non-condensing overhead off gas that contains H2S: visbreaking, coking, fluidized-bed catalytic cracking, hydrotreating, hydrofining, and hydrodesulfurization. Merichem’s LO CAT process has proven to be a highly effective desulfurization process that is capable of producing sulfur free off gases that are typically sent to the refinery fuel gas system. The LO CAT technology was first licensed to treat a refinery overhead off gas stream in 1981. The continued success of the LO CAT technology in refinery applications has lead to nearly two dozen installations worldwide.
