Flocculators

MRI - Flocculation Systems

Flocculation is the gentle mixing designed to accelerate the rate of particle collision, which causes the agglomeration of electrolytically destabilized colloidal particles into settleable sizes. MRI combines turbine, horizontal, and hydraulic flocculators for maximum pretreatment control. With increasingly stringent regulations and adoption of membrane filtration, the pressure is on for all stages of pretreatment — chemical feed, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration — to act in concert. In response, Meurer Research, Inc. has developed MRI Flocculation Systems™ — integrating turbine, horizontal, and hydraulic flocculators into multi-stage systems with a self-cleaning hydraulic final stage, maximizing versatility and performance.

MRI - Paddle Wheel Flocculators System

The slow mixing of MRI’s large paddle wheel accelerates the rate of particle collisions causing the agglomeration of electrolytically destabilized colloidal particles into settle-able sizes. All stainless steel, there is no glass-shard contamination or through-wall seals. MRI’s Paddle Wheel Flocculator provides a unique advantage: the flexibility to install a number of flocculators on a single drive. This enables a varied paddle configuration and achieves the use of a range of G-values, which in turn advances the ability to control flocculation outcomes. Due to the recent increase in the use of membrane filtration and the resulting elimination of polymers, controlling flocculation outcomes in the sedimentation process is more important than ever.

Plate Settlers

MRI - High-Capacity Inclined Plate Settlers

MRI Inclined Plate Settlers are proven for decades to deliver the highest flow rate and solids removal available, providing unsurpassed clarifier function. Featuring the unique, patented hydraulic Flow Control Deck, MRI distributes flow evenly across the entire system. The even distribution enables a consistent flow rate and low turbidity throughout the sedimentation process, producing high quality effluent with less than 1 NTU, meeting or exceeding regulations. As a result, MRI Inclined Plate Settlers are recognized as the highest performing and most reliable system available. Other key design features include laser-cut orifices, which guarantee that all points of effluent removal are identical; and a rigid design that enables the Flow Control Deck to support up to 250 pounds –strong enough to be walked on during installation and / or inspection.

MRI - Wastewater Inclined Plate Settlers

Influent enters the basin through a helical flow diffuser that creates a quiet zone beneath the plate settlers. Flow enters the plates through side inlet ports and rises between the plates as solids settle. Clarified water emerges through v-notched flow outlets at the top of each plate and is discharged into effluent troughs.

Other Products

Ultra-Scraper - Reciprocating Linear Sludge Scraper

MRI’s U/S Ultra-Scraper Sludge Collector is computer-controlled and features a power pivot that transmits a 20,000 pound force from hydraulic drive to scraper racks, enabling removal of dense sludge. MRI’s sludge collectors fit perfectly with MRI’s Plate Settlers. Efficient, Fast Action Removes the Heaviest Solids and Lightest Flocs. The only reciprocating linear sludge scraper made in the USA, the MRI U/S Ultra-Scraper Sludge Collector is equipped with a grid of low-profile, stainless steel scraper blades that work beneath the sludge blanket. To compare the advantage of hoseless suction with scraper sludge collection, read about MRI Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collector. This floor-hugging action prevents re-suspension of settled solids and allows up to 5 times higher sludge transport velocities than Chain & Flight or other higher profile sludge collectors.

Mixtec - Vertical Turbine Rapid Mixer

MRI’s Vertical Turbine Rapid Mixer produces an axial pattern and efficient flow for even disbursement of chemicals. Vertical turbines offer high speed while using less energy, and all stainless steel fabrication. Manufactured since 1930, MRI/Mixtec Rapid Mixers are known for their durable design and high efficiency. Providing ‘value for the money’ is at the core of our ongoing R&D efforts. With more than 75 years of experience, MRI/Mixtec conducts continual research and development to: Develop better and more cost-effective methods of mixing and manufacturing. Ensure the best possible combination of technology and price

Cable-Vac - Low Profile Hoseless Sludge Collector

MRI Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collector features a floor-hugging, telescoping sludge removal pipe that extends the full length of the basin, eliminating the need for hoses and the problems associated with suction sludge collectors. It is the latest technology in sludge removal. Developed in 2002, the MRI Hoseless Cable-VacTM Sludge Collector removes settled solids throughout the basin, even from the final 2′ at the end wall typically left un-collected by other sludge collectors. Now with over 300 installations, the hoseless technology has proven to be the most reliable suction sludge collector available. Designed for use with plate settlers, tube settlers, and in open basins, the MRI system is preferred by all major engineering firms. MRI has been manufacturing sludge collectors since 1980.

MRI - Water Treatment Package System

MRI’s Package Systems incorporate all-stainless steel components proven in our large municipal clarifiers. Corrosion-resistant, tanks and components are available in flows ranging from less than 100 GPM to 1 MGD. MRI Package Systems are the perfect solution for:

MRI - Water Treatment Pilot System

MRI’s Pilot Systems help establish treatment process parameters off-line whether using MRI treatment equipment or other brands.
Once optimized, parameters can be scaled and deployed to the full system, resulting in consistent water quality and increased efficiency.
