Hazardous Waste Services
MEC has successfully completed numerous projects related to hazardous waste sites and hazardous waste management since our inception in 1991. Past projects range from environmental assessments prior to property transactions to Superfund-related projects. MEC’s staff of engineers, geologists and chemists stay current on recent developments in waste management technology with ongoing internal research and development of remediation and treatment technologies. Our success has resulted from extensive knowledge of applicable regulations, the scientific basis for these regulations, and the latest thinking on risk management strategies. This knowledge allows MEC to combine effective regulatory interactions with the application of sound science to achieve practical solutions for our clients.
Solid Waste Services
Based on our fundamental understanding of the science and engineering behind the Subtitle D-based regulations, MEC has successfully completed more than 200 projects in the past 5 years related to design, permitting, and/or provided operational services for numerous sanitary landfills in the Midwest. We have also provided services for approximately 15 solid waste transfer stations ranging in size from 30 to 1500 tons per day. Thus, we are intimately familiar with the state and federal regulatory requirements for solid waste sanitary landfills and transfer stations.
Water Quality Services
MEC"s Water Quality Services address the growing concern of surface water quality and the impacts of Point and Non-Point Source Pollution. Low Impact Development (LID) is a new, comprehensive land planning and engineering design approach with a goal of maintaining and enhancing the post-development hydrologic regime of urban and developing watersheds.
