BioLED Sources

Microscope LED

Mightex microscope LED light sources are modularized fully-customizable turn-key solutions for optogenetics, fluorescence excitation, and other biophotonics applications. Precisely-timed and high-intensity light pulses are required in optogenetics experiments to activate channelrhodopsins (ChR2, ChR1 etc.) and halorhodopsins (NpHR) in order to excite and inhibit neurons using a microscopy light source. To meet these requirements, Mightex has developed a proprietary “IntelliPulsing” technology to allow BLS-series sources to output significantly higher power in pulse mode than what the LEDs are rated for in CW mode.

Spotlight-Leds

Mightex BLS-series precision LED spotlight employ the latest high-power LED technologies and a proprietary coupling optics to achieve the best beam uniformity. In conjunction with BioLED light source control modules, these LED sources can be used for a wide range of applications including optogenetics and other bio-photonics applications.

Microscope Adapters

The Polygon is compatible with any commercial microscope (Nikon, Zeiss, Olympus, Leica) either upright or inverted microscope. Dedicated microscope adapters are designed to couple the Polygon into the infinity-path of any microscope model for patterned illumination capabilities.

Infinity Port Expanders

Mightex’s Infinity Port Expanders enable researchers to increase the number of individual input devices to their microscope infinity light path. The Infinity Port Expanders (IPX) can accept patterned illuminators, such as the Polygon Pattern Illuminator , widefield illuminators, TIRF and laser/confocal scanners devices to maximize versatility of a microscope system. Our IPX2 solution provides a flexible, yet compact solution for your integration needs, while the IPX4 provides advanced flexibility and versatile configurations where 3 or more devices are being integrated to the system. The IPX2 and IPX4 can be used in any commercial inverted or upright microscope (e.g. Leica, Nikon, Olympus and Zeiss), or on Mightex’s OASIS Macro/Micro/Implant systems.

USB Cameras

Mightex’s ultrafast USB 3.0 cameras are designed for applications that require high-speed and/or multiple cameras. These cameras are equipped with a super-speed USB3.0 interface that can deliver a transfer rate of up to 400 Mbytes per second, which is 10 times the USB2.0 speed, 3.5 times GigE speed and 6 times Firewire-800 speed. With a fast and high-definition Aptina 5 Megapixel CMOS image sensor that can offer up to 14fps in full resolution and up to 350fps using ROI mode, Mightex USB3.0 cameras are suited for industrial applications that require a great amount of data to be processed and transferred from the camera to the PC. These ultra-compact cameras have external trigger-in, strobe-out, and a powerful engine that supports multiple camera operations. In addition to all these outstanding features, a user-friendly GUI based application software and an SDK are provided for custom software development.
