Thompson - Strainer
The Thompson Strainer is our highly efficient, patented stainless steel strainer which features a large conical screen, offering substantially more screen surface area versus traditional y-strainers or basket strainers.
Turbo Disc Skid Systems
The Automatic Turbo-Disc Filter is a fully automatic, self-cleaning disc filter system. Available in multiple micron sizes, the lightweight three-dimensional polypropylene disc media uses a minimal amount of backwash water (approximately 10 gallons of water per pod) relative to other automatic filters on the market.
Automatic Turbo Disc Ful Flow Systems
The Automatic Turbo-Disc Filter is a fully automatic, self-cleaning disc filter system. Available in multiple micron sizes, the lightweight three-dimensional polypropylene disc media uses a minimal amount of backwash water (approximately 10 gallons of water per pod) relative to other automatic filters on the market.
Thompson - Stainless Steel Sea Strainer
The stainless steel Thompson SeaStrainer is, quite simply, the finest sea water strainer available. We created the Thompson SeaStrainer to last as long as your vessel. The Thompson SeaStrainer is available in Type 304 and 316 stainless steel and features a large conical screen element. Our standard screen element is made from 5/64` perforated (0.077` or 2mm) material. And, while this is the industry standard, Miller-Leaman stocks a variety of screens to match your custom application. Precisely crafted by experienced professionals, the Thompson SeaStrainer is a brilliant selection for premium applications.
Simplex - Basket Strainers
We take a traditional “basket strainer” to another level. Our basket strainers are designed and fabricated to match the exact specifications of our customers. Our screens are available in a variety of perforated/mesh sizes and are built to last. We offer a self-cleaning seastrainer that is designed for vessels that are water-jet propelled. The novel design utilizes a pressurized flow stream from the water-jet - continuously cleaning the strainer screen while underway.
Duplex Strainers
Commonly used for redundancy, our duplex strainers are designed to fit tight spaces and offer a significant weight savings compared to traditional “cast” duplex strainers. Our duplex strainers are manufactured using various alloys, including CuNi (70/30 and 90/10) and Type 316L stainless steel. We offer innovative single point valve operation solutions to reduce the possibility of error when switching and also reduce the time required to service the strainers. Many designs start with a CAD model of the allotted area in the boat. Through a collaborative customer sharing process the system evolves into a final product. Additionally, we have a library of existing designs that can be inserted into your boat.
Thompson - Strainer
For enhanced capability, any Thompson Strainer can be outfitted with a Pressure Differential Alarm (PDA) or Automatic Timer Flush Package (ATF-EA-1.5) or both (PDA/ATF-EA-1.5). The Pressure Differential Alarm Package continuously monitors the inlet and outlet system pressure. When the pressure differential exceeds the preset limit, a switch-gauge triggers a siren and visual flashing alarm. These alarms are intended to alert maintenance personnel that the strainer screen needs to be removed from the strainer housing for manual cleaning.
Helix - Discs Filter
Miller Leaman’s Helix Disc filter models are available in three different sizes: 2”, 2” Super and 3” model. The filters can be installed in any orientation; however, it is preferable to install them with the 3/4` flush port at the bottom. As water enters the filter housing, a high velocity centrifugal action occurs, spiraling heavier particles ( sediment, scale, etc.) away from the disc cartridge, down to the base of the filter. These accumulated particles are then flushed from the filter via the 3/4” flush port connection at the base of the filter (valve not included).
