Quicklime

MLC - Standard Quicklime

Synonyms: Lime, Quicklime, Calcium Oxide, Burnt Lime, HiCal Lime, Caustic Lime, Calcium Lime. MLC™ Standard Quicklime has set the standard for lime users for many years. Our quicklime is used in flue gas desulfurization, water and waste water treatment, steel, paper, chemical and environmental applications. Standard Quicklime is produced and sold in several sizes. Our Granular and ½” Pebble Quicklime are generally slaked for use in industrial applications. The larger sizes are commonly used as fluxing agents in the metals industry.

MLC - Pulverized Quicklime

The MLC™ Pulverized Quicklime family of products can be applied in many chemical and industrial applications where a small particle size and consistent quality are required. These products are manufactured to have consistent chemical and physical properties that are demanded by the end use applications. This consistency makes MLC Pulverized Quicklime ideal as a raw material for fiberglass, glass, and steel applications.

MLC VitaCal - O Food Grade Calcium Oxide FCC

VitaCal®?O Calcium Oxide (Quicklime) is a food grade, high purity product which meets or exceeds the 12th Edition of Food Chemical Codex specifications. Because of purity and consistency, food processing chemists have specified VitaCal® Food-Grade Calcium Oxide (Quicklime) for more than 40 years. With low lead (less than 0.5 ppm), VitaCal®?O Food Grade Calcium Oxide (Quicklime) is one of the lowest lead calcium oxides available for all of your FCC applications.

MLC PetroCal - O Calcium Oxide

The PetroCal® O Calcium Oxide family of products is pulverized and designed to meet the exacting requirements of the petroleum additives industry.

Hydrated Lime

MLC - Standard Hydrated Lime

Hydrated lime products are typically used in chemical manufacturing, water and waste water treatment, acid neutralization and other environmental applications. Hydrated lime plays a major role in construction applications for mortar and stucco applications as a soil-stabilizing material and as an anti-strip additive in asphalt. Hydrated lime has applications as a sorbent in flue gas treatment for the control of SO2?and S03?emissions applications.

MLC - Activated Hydrated Lime (AHL)

MLC™ Activated Hydrated Lime “AHL” offers very low grit attributes, dosage reduction over Standard Hydrated Lime, less variability, and faster reacting speed, as well as operational savings opportunities for water treatment applications. Available to be shipped via truck. Special packaging and/or bulk bags can be accommodated through our packaging partners.

MLC - Hydrated Lime

Hydrated Lime FGT is a high-purity hydrated lime is the industry leader for DSI for SO3 mitigation. MLC Flue-Gas-Treatment grade assures the customer of a reactive product (>21 m2/g BET surface area) that is proven in the toughest full-scale applications.

MLC - High Reactivity Hydrated (HRH) Lime

This material is tailor-made for applications where high reactivity and performance are required. The key advantage of High Reactivity Hydrated Lime is its ability to react very rapidly to effectively capture acid gases. So even if a plant or utility only has short existing duct runs and short reaction times, the high reactive hydrate can still capture the acid gases present in the flue gas. This provides a control option both for acid gases and when SO3 is a concern in mercury control programs. There are several situations where this product type is beneficial. A more reactive DSI sorbent allows the end user to remove more pollutant(s) than with current DSI-grade sorbents.

MLC Microcal - H Calcium Hydroxide

The MLC MicroCal®?H Calcium Hydroxide family of products is used in chemical processing, where high-purity hydrated lime is required. Many chemists requiring high purity lime specify one of the MicroCal®?H products – the standard for high purity since 1907.

MLC - Dolomitic Lime

As a result of its rich magnesium content and chemical profile, MLC’s Dolomitic Lime offers exceptional value in steel manufacturing applications, including electric arc furnaces and basic oxygen furnaces (BOF). Dolomitic Lime contains both magnesium oxide and calcium oxide. Mississippi Lime Dolomitic Lime is valued in the steel industry, as the high magnesium in the product helps to extend furnace refractory life by reducing the amount of wear the slag can cause during the production process. This creates opportunities to improve the efficiency and economy of milling processes by enabling refractories to last longer, reducing costs, labor, and GHG emissions associated with more frequent replacement. The Dolomitic Lime also acts as a fluxing agent.
