Summary
A laboratory study was made of the performance of a miniature-size, thin-film aluminum oxide humidily sensor over a range of ambient temperatures from 0°C to 40°C and encompassing humidities from 40 to 78,000 parts per million by volume (ppm-v). Hysteresis and temperature effects of the sensors were obtained from tests performed at ambient temperatures 40°C, 25°C and 0°C and encompassing relative humidities from 19 to 98 percent. Information o

Woodside had been experiencing intermittent blockages in 4/5 S1406 LNG trains since September 2008 and had been unable to pinpoint the source of the problems.

Repeated hydrate formations were leading to reduced productivity and the existing process monitoring instrumentation had failed to confirm moisture breakthrough on the beds. The site`s existing Panametrics portable moisture analysers had proven susceptible to drift in both use and storage, exhibiting large hysteresis errors.

Introduction
Water is an important substance without which mankind cannot survive. However, it also causes problems such as residual impurity in scientific experiments and in manufacturing processes where a high-vacuum condition or a high-purity gas is required. This is because water is present in the atmosphere in large quantities and therefore can intrude readily everywhere, and can adsorb quickly onto the surfaces of many materials. Because of these characteristics, w

Abstract
Methods for dehydrating natural gas using molecular sieves (mol sieve) are well established. Many strategies have been developed with the intention of extending mol sieve lifetime and preventing unplanned shut-downs of dehydration units. The amount of adsorbent required in such dehydration processes is determined by the water content in the feed, the end-of-run (EOR) water adsorption capacity of the mol sieve inventory and the minimum time required for regenerat

Evaluation of an MCM moisture analyser and validation system during start up of Platformer 4 at Shell Bukom, April 2005.

Overview
Platformer start up requires an accurate knowledge of moisture levels in order too prevent over cracking, help optimise yields and prevent early catalyst damage. The presence of chloride and other contaminants during start up often affect the water content analysers which can quickly drift out of calibration tolerance before their n

Recently BJ PPS Leeds dried a client system with nitrogen. Dewpoint was measured using a Michell ADM dewpoint meter which was connected to the system at different locations via a one metre long rubber hose. The instrument was allowed to stabilise for approximately five minutes before each reading was taken. Average result was in the region of -27.5 °C. A check of our nitrogen supply and the client`s nitrogen supply showed a dewpoint of -30 °C. Clearly the nitrogen supply readings indi
