Power Management - Switching Converters & Controllers - Step-down(Buck) - Controllers
100V Input, Current Mode, Synchronous Step-Down Controller
The MP9929 is a high-voltage, synchronous, step-down, switching regulator controller that can directly step down voltages up to 100V. The MP9929 uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) current control architecture with accurate cycle-by-cycle current limiting. It is capable of driving dual N-channel MOSFET switches. Advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode enables nonsynchronous operation and pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) mode to optimize light-load efficiency. The MP9929’s operating frequency can be configured by an external resistor or synchronized to an external clock for noise-sensitive applications. Fault protections include precise output over-voltage protection (OVP), output over-current protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown. The MP9929 is available in a QFN-26 (4mmx6mm) package.
Isolation - Isolated Gate Drivers
Isolated Single-Channel Gate Driver with Split Outputs
The MP18811 is an isolated, single-channel gate driver solution with up to 4A of source and sink peak current capacity. The gate driver is designed to drive power switching devices with a short propagation delay and pulse-width distortion. By utilizing MPS's proprietary, capacitive-based isolation technology, the driver can provide 3kVRMS of withstand voltage (per UL1577). In addition, the common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) rating between the input side and output driver exceeds 100kV/μs. With these advanced features, the driver provides high efficiency, high power density, and robustness to a wide variety of power applications. The MP18811 provides primary on/off control and split outputs that can individually control the source and sink driving capacity. A wide primary-side VDDI supply range allows the driver to be interfaced with 3.3V or 5V digital controllers. The secondary-side driver accepts up to a 30V supply. All of the supply voltage pins feature various under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection levels. The MP18811 is available in a standard, narrow-body (NB) SOIC-8 package.
Automotive, Isolated, Dual-Input Half-Bridge Gate Driver
The MPQ18831 is an isolated half-bridge gate driver solution with up to a 4A source and 8A sink peak current capacity. The gate driver is designed to drive power switching devices with a short propagation delay and pulse-width distortion. By utilizing MPS's proprietary, capacitive-based isolation technology, the driver can provide up to 5kVRMS of isolation voltage (per UL 1577) with a wide-body SOIC package. In addition, the common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) between the input side and output driver exceeds 150kV/μs. With these advanced features, the drivers operate with high efficiency, high power density, and robustness across a wide variety of automotive power applications. The MPQ18831 integrates dual-channel gate drivers in one package. Each output can be grounded to separate grounds or connected to a positive or negative voltage reference. The secondary topology can be configured as a half-bridge high-side (HS) or low-side (LS) driver that is controlled by two independent input signals. To prevent shoot-through in the half-bridge driver, the MPQ18831 provides a configurable dead time (DT) set by an external resistor.
