Archaeological Services

Moore Group’s Archaeological section undertakes work throughout Ireland. Established in 2001, we have developed considerable expertise in all aspects of archaeology during our twelve years. We are unique in that we provide an holistic service to our clients, working in conjunction with our in-house environmental consultants to provide a comprehensive environmental service. This unique suite of services enables us to assist our clients at all points in a projects development, addressing many of the elements of an EIS in-house, whether the project be terrestrial, marine or lacustrine. This suite of services is unparalleled in Ireland.

Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment Services

From initial site assessments, through to the preparation of cultural heritage reports (including architectural heritage) to support planning applications or as part of a full EIS, Moore Group can help to reduce the risk of untimely delays and extra costs to our client.

Site Investigation Services

Our site investigation services range from small-scale archaeological test trenching to large open-area excavations. This service is relevant to large or small-scale urban developments, rural green-field developments and large infrastructural projects. These programmes are executed in tandem with desk-based assessments and early risk appraisal studies in order to establish a predictive model for the site.

Specialist Services

Our specialist services include Animal Bone Analysis and Analysis of human remains. The purpose of osteological analysis is to provide additional information on a particular site, through the osteological examination of human and animal remains. The aim of analysis is to use the bones as a tool in the interpretation of the archaeological site, either to support suggested theories or to point to other possible interpretations of the cultural material.

Environmental Services

Environmental Consultancy Services

Moore Group’s environmental section works with a wide range of clients and interdisciplinary constituencies representing industry, communities, national and local government bodies, property owners, private developers, engineering and other project management consultants and entrepreneurs. Established in 2001, we have developed considerable expertise in all aspects of environmental consultancy during our ten years to date. We are unique in that we provide a holistic service to our clients, working in conjunction with our in-house archaeological consultants and our sister company, Moore Marine to provide a comprehensive environmental service. This unique suite of services enables us to assist our clients at all points in a project’s development, addressing many of the elements of an EIS in-house, whether the project be terrestrial, marine or lacustrine. This suite of services is unparalleled in Ireland or the U.K.

Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Assessment Services

Moore Group staff have significant experience in the preparation of appropriate assessment screening and Natura Impact Assessments.

Ecological Consultancy Services

Flora and Fauna surveys are an essential element in planning applications and site selection processes. Moore Group has a unique understanding of conservation requirements, wildlife policy and legislation, and the needs of architects, developers, planners and commercial interests for assessment, mitigation and remediation of ecological impacts. Our staff are experienced with detailed specialist surveys and can provide expert and pragmatic advice.

Environmental Impact Assessment

If early scoping and planning is undertaken prior to development or in conjunction with planning, especially in the context of increasing legislative burdens (growing more complex every year), new development proposals can be enhanced and improved. Our EIA/ SEAapproach is a systematic, practiced process of comprehensively analysing the impacts and presenting a high quality, impartial study of all available options. This is an extremely effective instrument in the planning process for any size of development. The services offered can be tailored to suit the proposal, whether it be a large infrastructural development or a single dwelling house in a sensitive receptor area.

Environmental Managment Plans

Public spaces, parklands, walkways, cycle tracks, golf courses, depending on the significance of the location may require Environmental Management Plans (EMP). Moore Group can help formulate, implement and monitor the most suitable EMP for your site. ‘An Environmental Management Plan should aim to fulfil the overall environmental goals of a committed programme in a context appropriate to the site in question and compatible with the normal operational management of the operation’.

Visual Impact Assessment

Our consultants provide an expert service in the analysis of visual impacts for a wide variety of developments. We provide advice on mitigation and input to the project design.
