Nafion - Chlor-Alkali Membranes
Chlor-Alkali Industry Membranes Featuring Expanded Applications; The most common chlor-alkali processes involve the electrolysis of aqueous sodium chloride (a brine) in a membrane cell. Nafion™ chlor-alkali membranes are designed to provide enhanced anion rejection. The membrane transports sodium or potassium from this brine to form sodium or potassium hydroxide in an electrochemical cell.
Nafion - Sulfonic Membranes
Membranes for a Wide Variety of Electrochemical Applications; Nafion™ perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) membranes are based on a PFSA/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) copolymer. Widely used in electrochemical cells, they function as cation-conducting solid electrolytes. Nafion™ membranes come in a variety of grades and embody different properties, allowing designers and engineers to match membranes to their specific application needs.
Nafion - Polymer Dispersions
Nafion™ polymer dispersions contain the polymer in its chemically stabilized liquid form for easier processing.
Nafion Resins for Ion Exchange Membranes
Nafion - Superacid Resins
Nafion™ resins considered to be superacids (acidity greater than 100% pure sulfuric acid) can be used as catalysts for organic synthesis in numerous applications.
Nafion - Thermoplastic Resins
Nafion™ thermoplastic resins from Chemours are perfluorinated polymers used to manufacture ion exchange membranes, catalysts, and related materials. The thermoplastic polymer is melt-processable. Before it can be used, it must be converted chemically to an ionic form.
