FlakeSort - Sorting System
The NRT FlakeSort is the world`s first sorting system designed to make highly-accurate, polymer-specific identifications of small particles while sorting industrial feed streams of polymer flakes. Atypical application is the detection and removal of PVC and other low melt contaminates in the processing of PET flakes for recycling. The FlakeSort™ utilizes proprietary infrared sensing technology coupled with state-of-the-art sorting algorithms to effectively scan and classify polymer flake at high speed. Available in 1250,2500,3750, or 5000 Ib/hr processing rates, the FlakeSort™ is certain to improve the quality of your recycled flake.
FlakeSort - C-Imaging System
The NRT Flake Sort- C Imaging System is an advanced image processing system designed to target and sort flake based on color analysis and sophisticated object recognition.Powerful high-speed processors and proprietary recognition algorithms analyze color, transparency, opacity for precise flake processing.
Optical Sorters
NRT ColorPlus - Optical Sorter Integrates with Max-AI
This optical sorter integrates ColorPlus™ technology and Max-AI® technology to create a revolutionary new sorter with unmatched detection abilities. The ColorPlus sorter employs a high-resolution RGB line-scan sensor to identify and sort recyclables by color. Max-AI technology employs a camera and neural network based artificial intelligence (AI) to identify recyclables similar to the way a person does. Max’s person-like identification decisions is an additional layer of intelligence that, when added to the ColorPlus sorter’s highly accurate and high volume color sorting, creates new sorting capabilities. For example, in a fiber application the ColorPlus precisely targets brown OCC while Max targets all OCC and boxboard of various colors. This results in higher recovery and purity of both paper and OCC, with lower product loss and decreased labor.
NRT SpydIR - Optical Sorter Integrates with Max-AI
This optical sorter integrates SpydIR® technology and Max-AI® technology to create a revolutionary new sorter with unmatched detection abilities. NRT’s SpydIR technology uses near infrared light (NIR) detection to identify plastics, paper, wood and other materials by material type. Max-AI technology employs a camera and neural network based artificial intelligence (AI) to identify recyclables similar to the way a person does. Max’s person-like identification decisions is an additional layer of intelligence that, when added to the SpydIR-R sorter’s highly accurate and high volume NIR sorting, creates new capabilities. The result is new capabilities – for example, NRT SpydIR® detection can quickly and reliably identify fiber, PET or numerous other materials, but Max-AI can identify if that fiber is on a tin can or if it’s cardboard, and if PET is an undesirable tray or if HDPE is food grade.
NRT SpydIR - Advanced Infrared Sorting System
The SpydIR®-R is an advanced infrared sorting system that separates numerous selected polymers from a mixed stream. It uses proprietary technology and fast, highly-sensitive algorithms to rapidly identify unique polymer signatures from their infrared spectra. SpydIR® is the only technology that uses PET Boost™ that improves detection of thin-wall PET, wet PET and full-sleeve labeled PET. While other optical sorters detect material over the belt and eject some time later, NRT offers In-Flight Sorting®, which detects and ejects material in flight. In-Flight Sorting enables the use of transmissive detection and eliminates motion-related error and belt interference, increasing purity levels and hit rates.

NRT ColorPlus™ - Imaging System
The NRT ColorPlus™ Imaging System is an advanced image processing sorting system designed to target and sort materials based on precision color analysis and sophisticated object recognition. Powerful high-speed processors and proprietary recognition algorithms analyze color, transparency, opacity, and object boundaries including opaque analysis and label recognition for precise object targeting.
NRT MetalDirector - Metal Director Sorting System
The NRT MetalDirector sorting system uses sophisticated metal-sensing technology to readily identify and eject ferrous and nonferrous metals from a mixture of materials. The sorter can efficiently recover aluminum cans from a process stream. The sorter features an eddy current induction detection module incorporated into a fast-moving conveyor. The MetalDirector detects and identifies metal objects and their locations within the fast-moving material feed stream on the belt. The metal objects are then ejected by a brief, precise blast of compressed air as they discharge off the end of the conveyor. The system incorporates rugged heavy steel plate construction for the sorting enclosure, self-cleaning live roll splitter, and an advanced easy-to-use operator interface.
NRT TruSort - Advanced X-ray Florescent Sorting System with XRF
NRT was the first to sort PVC from mixed plastics using X-ray technology in the early 1980s. Today, NRT continues to lead the industry in X-ray technology for a variety of applications. NRT has partnered with Spectramet® LLC to develop TruSort® with XRF™, an advanced X-ray florescent sorting system designed to separate materials at high throughput rates according to composition. The dry process uses patented imaging technology that electronically identifies material at the elemental atomic level.
NRT TruSort - Advanced Dual Energy X-ray Sorting System with DXRT
