Adhesive coating and laminating web lines are a primary component of New Era Converting’s product offering. As with all of our equipment, each machine is purpose built for your application, and can be designed for a variety of substrates such as film coating, fabric coating, foam coating, foil coating, paper coating, rubber coating and even flexible glass or rigid board substrates.

Gravure coating and its many variants offer a coating method which delivers a pre-metered amount of coating solution to the substrate. In direct gravure coating an engraved roll is used to control the amount of coating that is delivered to the web. This engraved roll (often referred to as the gravure or applicator roll) typically features a steel or ceramic surface into which a cell pattern is engraved.

New Era builds a wide variety of turret unwinding equipment, all of which can incorporate a large number of features. Our manual cut and splice turrets feature a range of different splice table setups to allow lap splicing, butt splicing or zero tail lap splices. These units can be incorporated with accumulators so as not to stop the process while splices are being made.
