Cross Connection Control and Backflow Prevention
A water purveyor has the responsibility to provide its customers with water that is safe under all foreseeable circumstances. Thus, in the exercise of this responsibility, the water purveyor must take reasonable precaution to protect the community water distribution system from the hazards originating on the premises of its customers that may degrade the water in that distribution system.
Water Quality & Compliance Mgmt
This course will help participants to properly and economically sample and test their water. Course instruction will enhance the participants’ ability to monitor their water for; process control, quality assurance and regulatory compliance purposes. Sample analytical reports will be reviewed to enhance understanding of laboratory results.
Confined Space Awareness and Control of Hazardous Energy
This program is required by OSHA/NJ PEOSH for all those who visit or work in or around confined spaces, i.e., manholes, sewer pipes, storm drains or pipes, digesters, tanks, meter vaults, etc. All aspects of the requirements for Entrants, Attendants, Supervisors and Rescue Teams in addition to atmospheric testing, non-entry rescue and harnesses will be covered. Lockout/Tagout refers to specific practices and procedures to safeguard employees and equipment from the release of hazardous energy during service or maintenance activities. Employees will obtain the knowledge and skills required for safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls.
