NIDEC - Switchable Water Pump
The Switchable ECF (Electro hydraulically Controlled Flow) Water Pump is based on a hydraulic control of the internal control unit. This one is working on the on-/off-principle. When the water pump is in the deenergised state ("on"), the coolant flow is unhindered transported from the spiral channel into the engine block of the internal combustion engine.In the energised state ("off") the magnet valve is triggered and this causes that the internal hydraulic circuit is closed. Thereafter it builds up a pressure and the control slide moves mechanically through the impeller. This results in an interruption of the coolant flow rate ("standing water"). The return of the control slide in the deenergised state is saved by a return spring.
NIDEC - Constant Water Pump
A constant water pump is driven by a belt and is based on the principle of a centrifugal pump. With a rotating impeller the centrifugal force is used for transporting liquids. The coolant, which enters axially into the pump, is forced by the impeller in a circular path to the outside. The stored energy in the fluid increases the pressure in the pump, and pushes the liquid in the spiral and the connected components. The coolant flow rate is directly related to the engine speed.
NIDEC - Switchable Water Pump
The switchable pneumatically switched flow (PSF) – water pump is based on a conventional centrifugal pump. A switch unit is integrated in the pump, connected with the low-pressure system of the vehicle. If the coolant pump is switched on, a slide moves over the vane wheel and interrupts the volume flow. The coolant circulation is stopped, and engine warm-up accelerates. This principle can lead to significant fuel saving.

NIDEC - Fully Variable Water Pump
In addition to switching the coolant flow on and off this fully variable ECF (Electro hydraulically Controlled Flow) - water pump can regulate the flow rate in between with a modulated hydraulic pressure generated by an electrically initiated and pulsing solenoid valve. For completing the control loop NGPM uses a constant feedback of the control slider’s position by magnet and sensor. This concept supports NGPMs main goal to reduce the CO2-emissons due to a coolant flow perfectly adjusted to the engine’s demand.

NIDEC - Electric Water Pump
We are addressing the demand for variable oil pumps, which is becoming increasingly stronger, with our own solutions in the shape of volume-flow and pressure-variable oil pumps. Through integration into the engine management system, only as much lubricating pressure / volume flow is generated as the engine requires. GPM offers several types of vane pumps – in a directly or indirectly controlled design. Partial oil pressure load reduction can be achieved through additional valves.

The belt-driven constant coolant pump works on the principle of a rotary pump. By means of a rotating impeller, centrifugal force is used to transport liquids. The coolant, which enters the centrifugal pump axially, is forced outwards by the impeller on a circular path. The energy stored in the liquid increases the pressure in the pump and pushes the liquid in the volute and the connected components. The coolant flow rate is directly related to engine speed.
