Filter Media
Nihon - Model JWWAA-103 - Filter Sand Media
In terms of sand filtration (rapid/slow filtration), the maintenance of filter largely depends on the property and particle size. Therefore, the selection of quality of filter sand is very important. The property, size, quality and conformity play important role to satisfy JWWA standards. Only 10% of natural sand can be used for rapid filtration. The sand for rapid filtration also accounts for only 30% in natural sand, because the uniform particle size, which is sieved by the advanced technique, is required. NIHON GENRYO provide the cutting-edge technology to produce the products for rapid and slow filtration for more than 75 years. Our original sieving, physical and chemical tests are held according to our strict standards to provide high-quality filter media in the market.
Nihon - Manganese Sand Filter Media
Sand will naturally become manganese sand and come to have the capacity to remove manganese as it filters water containing manganese to which chlorine is added. However, it might take a few months to a few years for sand to become manganese sand depending on the concentration of manganese. Our manganese sand is produced by repeatedly treating carefully selected filter sand with manganese chloride and potassium permanganate and then stabilizing the sand by artificially attaching a coat that causes contact oxidation (MnO2・H2O) to the surface of the sand. The produced sand exerts an excellent demanganization effect at the initial stage of passage of water under the condition where chlorine exists.
Zeolite - Crystalline Hydrated Aluminosilicate Filter Media
Zeolite is crystalline hydrated aluminosilicate in a three-dimensional framework structure. It has excellent cation exchange capacity. In terms of ion selectivity of zeolite, monovalent ions are superior to divalent ions, so zeolite has a high capacity to remove ammonium ions (ammonium-nitrogen), which is very likely to be selected among cations contained in water.
Nihon - Coral Sand Filter Media
Our coral sand is dried and sterilized natural coral fossil. It is porous and very absorptive. There are two kinds of coral sand, that for ornamental fish aquariums and that for soil improvement, and they are divided according to this usage.
Siphon Washing Machine
Siphon - Tank
The filtration system is used for small water treatment system or by private companies. The filter media are replaced every six months to five years. Although these used filter media can be recycled if they are washed and rehabilitated. However, they are usually disposed of as industrial waste due to such problems as space for installing a washing system and costs for washing filter media. Therefore, we developed the “SIPHON TANK,” which is a filtration system that can produce filtered water of stable quality without replacement of filter media. Since filter media are always kept clean, there is no need to dispose used filter media as industrial waste, an improvement from in the past. It serves as a stepping stone to a solution to environmental problems and achievement of zero emission advocated by ISO14000. It is also expected to significantly reduce maintenance costs, including the cost for replacement of filter media and the cost for backwashing.
Siphon - Model MST - Mobile Tank
Mobile Siphon Tank is compact and unified Siphon Tank, piping, control panel and chemical injection pumps.
Siphon - Model SWS - Washing System
Do you face the problem like unstable of treated water quality or tiresome replacement of filter media? That is all caused filter media itself. We came up with an idea through our various knowledge, experiences and achievements and finally produced exterior tank filter device, SIPHON WASHING SYSTE (SWS) which can promote your existing filter tank just put it on the outside.
Siphon - Activated Carbon
Activated carbon treatment has been widely adopted due to the strengthening of the effluent standard and legal revision, as well as instruction to switch from discharge into rivers to discharge into sewerage areas and necessity for compliance with environmental programs under ISO 14000. In conventional activated carbon treatment systems, activated carbon is firmly fixed in the upper layer, and it is replaced with new activated carbon although activated carbon in the lower layer is still usable. In addition, since the surface of activated carbon is coated with suspended substances, internal absorption performance cannot be fully utilized, and thus early replacement is necessary. Therefore, it has been very difficult to make best use of the capacity of activated carbon.
Nihon - High Speed Sand Sieving and Washing System
High-Speed Sand Sieving and Washing System is a totally new innovation developed by concentrating our technical capabilities as a manufacturer specializing in filter sand, and it has a superior washing and sieving capacity compared to conventional systems. A sand washing system with a mixer washes out the sludge component in filter sand that is discharged from a filter and sorts particles out in a coherent manner. Due to improvements in the sieving and washing process, the capacity of separating and washing sludge was enhanced. The system can be used not only in a fixed condition but also in a mobile condition (you can freely choose a workplace).
Nihon - Fully Automatic Dust Scraper
This is ideal for dust removal, which is an essential operation management process for pumps used for water and sewerage systems, agricultural and industrial water systems, power plants and industrial wastewater treatment facilities. The specifications, including the size of the mesh of the screen, are selected according to the kind of dust, geography, water channels and other conditions. It can be installed in anywhere using the “method of non-suspension water.”
