Filter Systems
Filter systems are used as primary screening to separate large particles from your wastewater. Removal of these particles prevents downstream pipe blockages and protects upstream equipment.
Flocculation Systems
These systems remove emulsions, dispersions and heavy metals from the wastewater by adding coagulant, flocculant or precipitant.
Intelligent Dosing Control Systems
To effectively remove solids and COD from wastewater with flocculation-flotation systems, chemical dosing is required. Iron chloride is added to coagulate the water into small particles. By neutralizing and adding a polymer these small particles grow into larger flocs. These flocs can be separated by using a flotation system (DAF). The dosage of chemicals represents the largest part of the yearly operational costs. The designed capacity of the chemical dosage is based on the peak load of COD in the wastewater at the end of each day of production, to ensure the effluent limits are always met. However, the chemical dosage is not designed on the real-time fluctuations of COD in the wastewater. In practice the COD load in the buffering tank increases during production hours and decreases during cleaning.
Flotation Systems
The most intelligent pre-treatment flotation solutions. For decades the Nijhuis Water Technology Dissolved Air flotation unit has been known as the most robust and best DAF unit available on the market. However, in response to variations in industrial activity and customers’ requirements to quickly and efficiently relocate production facilities, Nijhuis has now redesigned their DAF concept. The result is an even more efficient system than before. The Nijhuis Intelligent Dissolved Air Flotation (i-DAF) system is based on the Nijhuis innovative and intelligent aeration system (i-AIRATION) which forms fine air bubbles for the separation of particles.

Nijhuis i-NEC - Intelligent Electrocoagulation System
Currently many industrial companies and municipalities are facing challenges in treating the wastewater in an environmentally friendly manner reaching high effluent quality sufficient for discharge or even with a possibility for reuse, in this way contributing to the global water crisis. At present, electricity prices in certain regions around the world are being reduced, thus promoting electrical-driven rather than chemical-consuming process applications. For example, the COD load in the balance tank increases during production hours and decreases during cleaning. By using an intelligent dosing control system, costs for coagulation, flocculation and neutralization can be substantially reduced, because the system can deal more easily with fluctuations in pollution load.
