This device enables you to determine the temperature below which solid hydrocarbon crystals can form in aviation fuels and gasolines. If no crystallization or freezing point can be measured, this test measures the lowest measurable temperature reached before the crystallization point.

This test method concerns the determination of sediment content in crude oils and fuel oils by toluene extraction. Accuracy applies to a range of sediment levels from 0.01% to 0.40% by mass, although higher levels can be determined.
