With over 70 years of experience, our quality DOT high pressure, seamless steel cylinders are widely used for shipping, storing, and dispensing industrial gases. Our high pressure cylinders are fabricated from chromium-molybdenum steel and produced in strict compliance with all applicable DOT/TC specifications. In order to keep our exceptionally high level of quality control, Norris Cylinder closely monitors incoming materials for chemistry, grain size, and freedom from laps, seams, cracks, and inclusions. Our DOT cylinders are manufactured by several methods including plate drawn and hot billet pierce, which produces a seamless cylinder with the bottom integral to the sides.

Norris Cylinder manufactures acetylene cylinders with a world renowned asbestos-free, lime-silica porous mass. As the original patent holder of this asbestos-free mass, we have licensed our asbestos free mass to manufacturers in Spain, Australia, Germany, Czechoslovakia, France, Austria, England and the United States. In design, construction and workmanship, Norris Cylinder acetylene cylinders exceed normal industry requirements. Acetylene cylinders are available in a wide variety of sizes, specifications, and configurations with either acetone or DMF as the solvent. Forged from steel disks that are cold cupped, drawn and welded to form a cylinder shell, our cylinders are manufactured in accordance with DOT 8/TC 8WM, DOT 8AL/TC 8WAM, or ISO-3807 specifications from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Transport Canada, or the International Organization for Standardization. 

With over 40 years of experience, our quality high pressure, seamless cylinders are used in over 80 countries. Norris Cylinder offers high pressure cylinders that range from 158 to 414 Bar and are available in multiple sizes, from 30L to 80L. We have developed a line of light weight high pressure cylinders utilizing a modified Cr-Mo steel with a tensile strength up to 1273 MPa. Our light weight family of ISO cylinders offer an increased gas content to weight ratio over previous generation Cr-Mo cylinders. Norris Cylinder manufactures to either ISO 9809-1 or 9809-2 specifications. Several of our ISO 9809-1 cylinders can be dual marked with DOT3AA and UN ISO (with the TPED Pi mark) allowing use in many countries across the globe. Our UN approval is endorsed by the US Department of Transportation and our cylinder designs are also TPED approved allowing for the Pi mark at your request.
