Nurmi marine and offshore cylinders offer first-class reliability on the seas and in the ports. Most of our products are classified according to the rules of classification societies. hatch covers for ships, linkspans, RORO equipment (ramps, doors, etc.), marine and offshore cranes, steering gear, deck machinery, harbour equipment, offshore applications such as oil rigs.

Nurmi special cylinders are designed for demanding offshore and underwater applications in extreme temperatures as well as humid and acidic environments. Acid proof cylinders are used in paper machines, the chemical process industry and marine applications even in underwater solutions. Acid-proof cylinders also work underwater with no risk of paint delamination or lifting.

Nurmi manufactures double-acting telescopic cylinders for applications where length and reach are vital, as well as totally acid-proof cylinders and other customized applications. Where needed, intelligent electronics are built in – such as linear sensors or limit switch type connectors. Linear sensors are now used increasingly for cylinder programming and pre-programming.
