As a technically competent engineering and construction contractor, Opal can characterize sites, perform investigations and provide engineering designs and consulting services for our clients. After completion of the design, the project team can continue with construction oversight and management services in the field or construct the project on a design/build basis using our in-house construction personnel.  In addition to the scientific and engineering consulting services, Opal routinely provides construction consultation including master planning, budgeting, scheduling and expert witness testimony.

Opal remediates sites under a variety of state and Federal regulatory programs including CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA and state Voluntary Cleanup Programs (VCUP). Typically, Opal integrates a number of independent remedial technologies at contaminated sites to provide our clients with a complete solution for soil and groundwater restoration.

Opal performs heavy civil construction work across the country. Often our construction capabilities are combined with our engineering services to perform this work on a design/build basis. Our crews provide services ranging from conventional waterline installation and road construction to specialty construction of resort swimming pools, retaining walls, waterfront structures and recreation facilities.

Opal`s geologists and engineers develop and implement water monitoring programs in complex settings to define and characterize hydrogeologic regimes. The ground water models are limited to specific analytes to most appropriately illustrate migration and to develop cost-effective water restoration plans. Ground and surface water restoration may involve active water extraction and treatment using a variety of equipment trains, or may incorporate passive systems such as slurry trench barrier walls or interception trenches.

Opal provides a broad spectrum of mine reclamation services including inventorying abandoned mine features, plugging adits and shafts, mitigating acid mine drainage and the migration of heavy metals, rerouting surface water systems, and capping and revegetation. Our investigation and field reclamation work is performed safely and economically.

Opal safely performs demolition of buildings and structures with worker and environmental safety as its foremost concern. Our personnel perform an inventory of residual wastes and equipment prior to demolition and determine the legal and safe, handling and disposal procedures for all materials encountered. Opal segregates recyclable material and salvages equipment and materials for resale to reduce the cost of demolition for our clients.
